Waldo Grant
A Georgia native, Grant fled a failed marriage by migrating to New York City in 1971, settling in a bachelor apartment on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Neighbors knew him as a quiet loner, with detectives furnishing descriptions of "the kind of guy who lives in a tenement block for years, and nobody raises an eyebrow." More to the point, no one suspected that Grant's secret hobby was murder.

A 31‐year‐old unemployed man who came to New York City from Georgia six years ago and lives alone on the Upper West Side was charged yesterday with murdering four young men in the last four years.

Three of the victims, the police said, were killed in apartments of the suspect, Waldo Grant, who lived first at 203 West 91st Street and more recently at 7 West 103d Street, and all, including the suspect, had been involved in homosexual activity, the police indicated.

The body of the most recent vitcim, 16‐year‐old Harry Carrillo of 125 West 109th Street, was found by children playing‐on a path in Central Park four days after Christmas. The victim's nude body bad been sawed into three pieces, wrapped in plastic bags and placed in a shopping cart.

They said the victim, Philip Mitchell, 18, of 234 Menahan Street, Brooklyn, had been hit on the head with an iron bar, stabbed and thrown from the roof of the building in an effort to make his death look like a suicide. Mr. Grant was questioned at that time along with all the other residents of the building. No arrests were made and the death was put down as another of the city's unsolved murders.

Two Other Victims

Nearly two years later the body of George Muniz, 23, of 1976 Third Avenue, who had been stabbed numerous times, was found in a metal trash container in front of the house at 210 West 91st Street, a few doors down from Mr. Grant's apartment, where the police say the slaying took place.

The fourth victim, Harold Phillips, 30, was found battered to death with a hammer in his apartment at 27 East 124th Street on Oct. 3, 1976, the police said.

Grant committed 4 murders he was convicted for. One in 1973 one in 1975 and two in 1976.

At the bottom of Newspapers.com article says
Grant also volunteered information about additional murders:eek:
I am trying to find out about these additional murders but have not come across anything.
