Fairfield police investigating new tip in Katelyn Markham homicide
Monday marked the one-year anniversary of police discovering the Fairfield womans skeletal remains in a dumping ground in Cedar Grove, Ind., about 30 miles outside of Butler County. Fairfield and Indiana State police officials say investigators continue to work the case but solid leads have been hard to come by.
But in the past 30 days, Fairfield police have received a new tip from a validated source that is worthy of follow up, the chief said.
Theres good sourcing to it, Dickey said of the new information. We just dont know yet if it will pan out.

Still no leads one year after remains of Katelyn Markham found
The family of Katelyn Markham is still looking for answers as Monday marked one year since her remains were finally found after being missing for nearly two years.
A group of people searching for scrap metal along a creek near Cedar Grove, Ind. made the discovery last April.
She was reported missing in August 2011, and in August her death was ruled a homicide.
"I miss her," said Katelyn's tearful father, Dave Markham.
