How strange. Did a person put it there as some kind of prank? Or did an animal bring it there, and the rest of the bones are somewhere in the vicinity? Or something else?

Leesburg is a small town in basically the middle of nowhere (or as much 'nowhere' as Ohio gets). You have to wonder where it came from.

I hope they can figure out a PMI. I don't think there was necessarily a crime committed. Could be historical remains or from an old informal graveyard?

However, in Ohio there are 6 children between 7 and 13-years-old listed in NamUs as missing from between 1951 and 1999. They all have unknown fates.

If the NamUS location map is correct the remains weren't found that close to the local cemetery or the edge of town, where you'd think animal activity would be more common. Not near a railroad either. Hm.
