Bowdre resided in the 10130 block of Hamilton Avenue in the New Burlington area of Springfield Township, Ohio. Authorities suspected that foul play was involved in Bowdre's case since the beginning of the investigation. A search of the specified area produced animal bones, but no evidence related to Bowdre's case was discovered. Her disappearance remains unsolved.

I just finished accessing PART of the doe network. It's really depressing to see pages and pages and pages of pictures of those who have disappeared with little trace. A prayer for them all.

The husbands FB Larry Bowdre says he is widowed. He is the likely suspect in her disappearance. I wonder who the boyfriend was that she planned on leaving Larry for.

<<The circumstances: Though no body has been found, police considered Bowdre’s disappearance a homicide pretty much from the start. The 39-year-old had failed to show up for work on Monday, Feb. 15, 1988. That alone was alarming because the AT&T manager had a spotless attendance record. When she still hadn’t surfaced Tuesday, her supervisor reported her missing to police. No part of her has ever surfaced. About a week after she disappeared, Bowdre’s purse turned up in a Cincinnati mailbox.

The last person known to have seen Bowdre alive was her husband of 18 years, Larry Bowdre, then a visiting professor of zoology at Miami University. The two had breakfast together at a Bob Evans. It might sound like a nice Valentine’s Day outing, but when police questioned Larry Bowdre about his wife’s disappearance, he told them she’d been having an affair and must have run off with her boyfriend.

Police confiscated more than 80 computer discs from her husband. One of the discs contained a letter to the wife of Linda’s boyfriend asking the wife for information to discourage Bowdre from continuing the affair.>>

he asks her out to breakfast for Valentine's Day even though he knew she was planning on filing for divorce? yeah right... this isn't a crime novel...
but I think he still wanted to be with her and the Valentine's Day breakfast was perhaps in his mind the turning point..realizing that the lady wasn't willing to change maybe triggered a violent response...i imagine we're all thinking the same thing...the husband is the only person with motive and opportunity...it's a real shame the original investigators couldn't gather enough physical evidence to build a good case and put this guy away...it's always upsetting to hear about cases like this where it's very likely someone got away with murder...literally...but when you consider it's been 37 years since the crime and he's already 84, yeah, it seems like he totally got away with it...
either way
rest in peace Linda
