GUILTY OH - Richard, 84, & Gladis Russell, 85, Bellefontaine, 16 Feb 2011

BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio — A man accused in the slayings of three people was returned to Ohio on Wednesday.

"I would like to know why, you know?" said Deb Neeley, the mother of Tiffany Brown and Littleton's former girlfriend. "Because both of my girls loved him, and they treated him like their father."

"I think most of the family is content on getting him locked up for life," said Mike Coder, the nephew of Dick and Gladis Russell. "If it was the death penalty, it would go on and on."

10tv will be broadcasting the hearing at 10 a.m. (EST)

Don't have a direct link at this time, but they always put one up on their front page beforehand:

It looks like they had the 10tv chopper up yesterday, following the Logan County convoy from WV to Ohio ... here is last night's 11pm story:

No one has commented on the guilty plea, but this is what happened with the Matthew Hoffman case near me. My personal opinion on that case was, that it was a relief to have it over and done with. All the horrid details etc would not have to be testified to, and the families are spared the circus. I'm all for the death penalty, but I understand the willingness to just end the horror too. Closure soon for Tiffany's and Gladis and Dick's families.

BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio — 10TV News uncovered new details on Thursday about how investigators built a case against confessed killer Sammy Littleton, from text messages to fingerprints.

Littleton, 38, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after pleading guilty on Thursday to killing a woman and an elderly couple.

There was an outburst from the courtroom gallery as Littleton was led out of the room. Friends and relatives of his victims shouted, "Rot in Hell, Sam" and "Coward."

The Columbus Dispatch

BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio Sammy Littleton II still hasn't said why.

He didn't tell investigators during his six-hour interview why he killed three innocent people. And he didn't say anything at all on his own behalf in court today.

There was no surprise, either, in today's outcome: As expected, Littleton pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated murder and three counts of gross abuse of a corpse.

Then, Logan County Common Pleas Judge Mark S. O'Connor sentenced him to life in prison. He is 37 years old and will never be eligible for parole.

The newspaper article also has a timeline of events that transpired in this case.

WTTE-TV reported on the 10:00 p.m. news tonight that Littleton was taken to the state prison intake center at Orient, Ohio.

He's expected to be there for about a month before state officials determine where he will ultimately serve his life sentence in prison without the possibility of parole or appeal.

If he doesn't get life without parole, there's somethign seriously wrong.

A front page article in this morning's Columbus Dispatch gives chilling details of Littleton's interrogation by Ohio LE authorities after his arrest in West Virginia.

Why did Littleton kill? Evil, he says

In his videotaped confession, he tells Bellefontaine police detective Scott Sebring and detective Mike Brugler of the Logan County sheriff's office over and over again.

"I think evil thoughts all the time. I mean, there ain't one minute that I don't say or think about how to snap somebody's neck, crush their head,"he tells them. "Why would a person have that kind of thoughts all the time? I mean, why?"
