PMI seems to be quite old.
Probable homicide, .22 or .38 bullet wound behind the right ear.

"The skull turned up on a 2 1/2 acre parcel of land with a stream running through it...during all the flooding, the creek had run higher and fast, so that brings up the possibility that flood waters had unearthed the remains."

"The prevailing opinion is that the skll is human and belonged to a
young or small female."
"Deputies have speculated that the skull might belong to 13 year-old Rachanda Lea Pickle, who disappeared from her home at the Santiam Junction east of Sweet Home in July 1990."
"Anne Ellinwood's name has also come up in discussions. [She disappeared during a March of Dimes fund-raising walk in Corvallis in the mid 1970's."
"Virginia Ackley Erickson of Sweet home is also missing [since] 1973."
"The 2 1/2 acre property is primarily pastureland with a stream...and the Calapooia River at the back."

None of the above MP's (Pickle, Ellingwood, Erickson) have been publicly ruled out against this skull. I'm inclined to believe it may be Pickle or Ellingwood if the skull is of a young female.
Since the area was flooded before the skull was found, the remains could have been carried quite a distance.
