Well actually there may not be one...

Well get this- I just talked to Ken again- Lovrien DID have a jury trial for the murder of Griffin, and they unanimously convicted him in under 2 hours! They had lunch before they got the case, went out at 2pm, and had a verdict by 3:45. He's guilty of 2nd degree murder in the killing of Ken Griffin! Wonder if he's going to state prison now, or if they wait until April 26th for his sentencing on this conviction?

Thank you for ALL this info! Now I shall correct my notes. Do you know WHAT DAY the jury got the case? I would like to add that to my notes. TIA! :)

And GLAD to hear a guilty verdict!!

edited to add - noticed on the court site post - it was on 4/15/24 for disposition. I am going to "assume" this is the day the jury came to their verdict. Yes?

Yes it was Monday April 15th that the verdict was reached.

I hope he does what was said he might--- take LE to the place where he placed Mark.

Then, I hope no one ever has to hear his lies, words, or complaints again! Obscurity is the best place for him.

April 27, 2024

A Portland steelworker who killed twice, decades apart, and managed to hide both bodies until an old strand of DNA revealed his dark secrets has been sentenced to life in prison.

A jury convicted Christopher Lovrien earlier this month for the murder and dismemberment of a man he met at a bar in 2020.

Hi guys, I'm in Portland, but wasn't able to attend the hearing. I've been very busy with my daughter. Talked to Ken though yesterday, and I have some major updates: Ken told me that Lovrien received 25-life, plus 12 months for the dismemberment, and that Lovrien was pissed. When Lovrien sold his house, he paid for a private attorney. He received around $300,000. The balance went to his sister, and he never signed paperwork saying that he was indigent. Therefore, it's past the statute of limitations for Ken to sue him in Civil court, but both Griffin's family and Portland can to recoup costs for the public defenders.
There will be another hearing this coming Thursday to set a trial on the remaining gun charges counts (4-9) a felon in possession of a gun, and another trial, so he's still in Multnomah County jail for now. And apparently Oregon has 4 state prisons. One is on the East side of the state, and one is near Salem I think. Don't know where he's going.
Detective McGuire quit PPB to work for the state of Oregon doing the same job locating missing persons. Also the Victim's Advocate got a job in Eugene.
And Detective McGuire plans to ask Lovrien again about Mark's body in a few days after he's calmed down about the sentencing. I'm hoping to make it to Larch Mountain maybe towards the end of the week.
