Theada Fixsen Suicide Attempt 10/7/1980 - Newspapers.com

Based on divorce records in the paper, she seems to have been in a tumultuous marriage (1968-1979), perhaps understandably so, given her mental health. In the 7/10/71 paper, she is petitioned for divorce on grounds of cruelty, although they seem to have reconciled after that. In 1978, divorce is listed in the paper as petitioned on 6/8, 9/20, 9/21 (this one specifically mentions, if I understand correctly, the husband seeking custody of children, with support and visitation for Theada), with the divorce listed as being granted in the edition released 2/1/79. The suicide attempt, again, occurred 10/7/80. The only court records I found in Oregon were related to the divorce. So, not clear at all what was going on in her life in the years before she disappeared. Fixsen does appear to be her married name.
