''In April 1997, Pennsylvania State Police responded to a report that an unknown subject sexually assaulted two young children on West Newport Road in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The unknown male assailant approached the children in an area near their home and sexually assaulted them before departing the scene of the crime in a light blue work van with a ladder on the back. The children reported the incident to an adult who subsequently alerted law enforcement.''

''A follow-up investigation was conducted and led to genetic relatives of the suspect. Police eventually identified the suspect as 54-year-old Eric Dorwart. Dorwart is a resident of Manheim Township in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Dorwart was arrested in August 2023 and is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, and two counts of corruption of minors. A preliminary hearing in the case has been conducted and the case is awaiting a future court date.

Anyone that might have information about the suspect or the case is urged to contact Pennsylvania State Police - Lancaster Headquarters at 717-299-7650.''

''The Lancaster County District Attorney’s office says Eric Dorwart now faces charges of photographing, filming, depicting a computer sex act with a child under 18; possessing child *advertiser censored*; rape of a child; involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child; and aggravated indecent assault of a child.'

'State Police recovered two laptops and an iPhone at Dorwart’s home that contained more than 2,000 inappropriate images involving children. The District Attorney’s office says 167 of the images were identified as Dorwart engaging in inappropriate contact with three prepubescent children.'

'Dorwart was previously released on $25,000 bail and is now in custody on the new charges.'

In the meantime, he’s not even listed as a sex offender. at least near the current address. So neighbors may not even be aware. Also, there is an elementary school down the street and a high school virtually right across the street.
 
Status update: 8 months

I guess that’s 8 months estimated time until trial (for the case I re-posted from Richrd with a bunch of rapey offences).
