Missing woman from Pittsburgh area presumed dead in central Pennsylvania

A search connected to the disappearance was conducted in York County on Friday.

A county spokesperson said more than 100 people from agencies in York, Dauphin and Lancaster counties searched areas near the Bible Baptist Church in Conewago Township.

They used drones and dogs, and they searched water and land.

Proctor was arrested without incident for the theft of the EBT card, forgery, identity theft and access device fraud.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, officers attempted to talk with Proctor to learn about Scanlon's whereabouts but he denied knowing her.

Police said last week that the search for Scanlon had gone from a missing persons case to a homicide investigation. On Friday, May 3, FOX43 was there as dozens of crews searched nearly 10 miles of York County’s Little Conewago and Conewago Creeks, in connection to this case.

So far, no charges have been filed related directly to her disappearance.

Police also say 59-year-old Anthony Proctor was seen on camera using Scanlon's state benefits card on Feb. 15, days after her disappearance.
