SC SC - Spartanburg, Startex Mill village, WhtFem 40-55, UP9422, wrapped in plastic, earring, Nov'11

I went to school in upstate SC with a girl whose last name was Medlin that looks very very much like Sharon. I'm sure they have to be related, I would say close enough to be her mother, but I think that would have been aronud school if she'd been missing. It's possible I might have a friend of a friend that still talks to her and could ask if she knows anything thats not publicized. I'll ask around, but no promises, I don't really keep in touch with many people.
As to her being excluded, one of the reports said white and one said admixture, do we know for sure which is correct?

That would be great! I do not know for sure if the description is white or admixture. How could we know exactly what a person would look like based on that description? Dark skinned, light skinned, etc...

If someone wants to call this in, be my guest. I won't be able to do it until tomorrow or the next day at the earliest.

Called in Kathleen McHugh and Deborah Larkin. The officer didn't ask me my name or anything so I didn't leave it. Wasn't sure how to bring that up. LOL He didn't seem familiar with Namus, Charley or the Doe Network and that was concerning. I wish the departments would spread the word about these networks.

There are now 63 ruleouts on the NamUs profile. Neither one of these women are on there. It was last updated 5/18/12. I hope they looked into the possible match(s)...

These 2 women are still not on the rule-out list. I hope the officer who took the call took the submission seriously.

There are 67 rule-outs now...

What's the deal with Evelyn Shelton? I know she has no missing person's report...and she's not listed on the rule outs....has she been found or something? Has anyone called this tip in?

I don't see her on the NamUs rule-out list. I'm not sure it would show up though if Evelyn isn't listed in NamUs (not sure how that works)

The location definitely works, age works, height is close, both wore earings...

The only thing I question is that they are calling Jane Doe white - likely bi-racial

I would submit it. If its not her, maybe NamUs will at least create a profile for her...

The original link no longer works.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says the remains were found in a wooded area on South Main Street in Startex.
Joseph Annadale said he flipped over an old couch and found the skeleton underneath a tarp.
Coroner Rusty Clevenger brought in a forensic anthropologist from Charleston County to begin looking at the bones.
The scientist said that approximately 85% of the skeleton was recovered which is a "high percentage" she said.

Clevenger said the woman was white, between 40 and 50 years old and may have been reported missing more than five years ago.

Clevenger also said that DNA tests are being conducted in an effort to identify the woman.

I've sent an email to the case Regional Administrator about Kathleen McHugh and Deborah Larkin as possibilities for this UID. I will post if I hear anything at all back.

I'm wondering if it's possible that the right arm was not found because Jane had a distinctive tattoo there?
