Her aunt has made some interesting comments (too bad that I can't bring them here due to TOS). I have a very bad feeling and am praying I am wrong. Her beautiful little girl needs her Mommy <sad>.

Dekalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray said deputies have done extensive searches for the 31-year-old.

Officers have searched by feet on the ground, drones and helicopters in the air, and boats on the water.

“Since the missing person report came in July 4, we have done grid searches around her property where she lives and also other property around there,” Sheriff Ray said including areas of Center Hill Lake.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department will be spearheading a renewed search effort Saturday, March 11 for a woman who has been missing and not heard from since July 4, 2022.

All of the teams reportedly received GPS devices and were sent to designated areas as they searched 187 acres of land, including rough terrain with sinkholes and bluffs, as well as a small area of flat land.

Even though Saturday’s efforts did not uncover any human remains, officials said they would continue to search this area, as well as other sections of DeKalb County and possibly other counties.

With the case still unsolved, Sheriff Ray is issuing an appeal to the public to be cautious about what they post in social media platforms.

“A lot of what we have read on social media is somebody’s opinion and not a fact. We have not identified a suspect in our investigation of this case and it very dangerous when someone starts accusing someone of something on social media that can’t be proven. That can be hurtful to Brittany’s family. We have gone non-stop since July and put in a lot of hours in this case. We take it very seriously. We had started planning this search back in November and we had Saturday as the projected date to do the search weather permitting. We wanted this to be a surprise search but it leaked out on social media earlier in the week so we went ahead and announced the search Friday and with it having been leaked the social media rumors started up again. Everything in the world has been posted about this case and its just a disgrace to the family. If anybody has any credible information we urge you to call the sheriff’s department, central dispatch, or our crime tip line to report it and I assure you we will go check it but to blast it on social media is not the way to do it,” he said.

Officials searched from Highway 70 to the 1000 block of Hurricane Ridge Road from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Since the start of the investigation, detectives from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department along with the 13th District Attorney General’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have served several search warrants, judicial subpoenas, court orders and taken statements from many people.

The sheriff’s office has reached out to other agencies with aerial equipment to help with the search.

“In the months of July and November, we used drones and helicopters to fly the area where she was last seen looking for anything that would help us in our investigation,” Sheriff Patrick Ray said in a news release. “We have searched multiple areas in the county including other parcels of property and boat ramps on Center Hill Lake. We have also used several tracking and cadaver dogs. Numerous searches were conducted by members of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department and the Smithville-DeKalb County Rescue Squad.”

A renewed search effort happened this weekend. But leads remain very hard to come by. You have to go back to July 4, the last time Brittany Miller was seen alive. She vanished without a trace, and the search for her does continue.

Sky 5 was high above DeKalb County Saturday as dozens of crews methodically searched more than 180 acres of land down and around Hurricane Ridge Road outside Smithville. That is the last place Miller was seen.

“We did find some bones at multiple locations," said Sheriff Patrick Ray.

But an anthropologist from MTSU confirmed them to be animal bones — nothing human. Unfortunately, no new evidence was found. Sheriff Ray said this search was as much about eliminating a search area as finding new leads.

To make sure that nothing was there and move our search efforts somewhere else besides there," said Sheriff Ray.

Meanwhile, the case file continues to grow as authorities track down more tips and potential sightings.

"This is only a portion of it. The DA's office has a file and also the TBI," said Ray showing a stack of notebooks.

What we know is that Miller left with her medicine, dentures and cell phone, which has been pinged repeatedly by investigators with no success. It's unclear if she left on foot or got into a car.

"There has been no trace of her, and from time to time, we will get missing person reports and find out that they left of their own free will. We have not ruled that out yet."

Sheriff Ray says there is no evidence of foul play but does see some areas of concern.
