*Sentencing Hearing (Both cases) (@ 1:30pm PT) – AZ - *Dalmer Hussen (18) (Sept. 24, 2000 attacking while walking home from a friend’s house in Phoenix, found Sept. 25, 2000 in a vacant lot) – *Lance David Ray (32 @ time of crime/52/now 56) was charged (12/27/20), indicted (1/7/21) & arraigned (1/19/21) with 2nd degree intentional murder. Held without bond. Plead not guilty.
*Lance David Ray (52/now 56) was arrested (10/23/20 in Bloomington, IN. & extradited to AZ) (in connection with 3 separate incidents in 2000 after DNA evidence linked him to the crimes for a 14 yr. old & 17 yr. old) & charged & indicted (10/23/20) & arraigned (11/25/20) with 2 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, 2 counts of kidnapping (death/injury/sexual), 2 counts of sexual conduct with a minor & 2 counts of sexual assault. Plead not guilty. Held without bond.
Trial was set to begin on 3/18/24 was cancelled. Plead no contest to 2nd degree intentional murder & 2 counts of 6 for sexual assault. Sentencing hearing on 4/1/24.

Count 2 (for Tylee): 1st degree murder. Count 3 (for JJ): Conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder & grand theft by deception. Count 4 (for JJ): 1st degree murder. Count 5 (for Tammy, 49, died 10/19/19): Conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder. Count 6 (for Tammy): 1st degree murder. Count 8 & 9: Insurance Fraud (Two counts of insurance fraud related to 2 different life insurance policies he had on Tammy). Plead not guilty. No bond. DA will seek DP. (Judge denied removing DP 3/14/24).
Trial set to begin on 4/1/24 with final jury selection. Trial will be held in Ada County.
Jury will be sequestered during deliberations in the guilt phase thru the penalty phase.

3/14/24 Update: Order: Authorizing Review of Questionnaire signed by Judge Stephen Boyce. Final jury selections now continues on 4/1/24.
3/28/24 Update: Judge Boyce has issued an Order [Non-Dissemination (gag) Order after John Prior did a TV interview [with KIVI TV, 3/26/24], It prohibits attorneys from making written or oral statements about the case until April 15 or after opening statements.
3/29/24 Update: Administrative Judge Steven Hippler says 2,500 potential jurors have been processed ahead of Daybell trial.
*Lori Norene Vallow aka Lori Norene Daybell (46/now 50) – Fremont County: Trial started on 4/10/23 & ended 5/10/23. 5/12/23: Guilty of all charges. Sentenced (7/31/23) to 3 consecutive life without parole sentence. 8/31/23 Update: Jim Archibald, Vallow's attorney has filed a Notice of Appeal & a motion to appoint state appellate public defender. New appeal attorney Craig Durham.


Tuesday, April 2nd:
*Jury Selection continues (Day 12) (@ 1:30pm PT) – CA – Blaze Bernstein (19) (Jan. 2, 2018, Lake Forest; found Jan. 9, 2018; he was stabbed 19 times in his neck; 14 times on the left, 5 on the right & 1 stab wound in his left knee) – *Samuel Lincoln Woodward (20/now 25) arrested & charged (1/17/18) & arraigned (11/9/18) with 1 count of felony murder with a hate crime enhancement for killing someone because of their sexual orientation & sentencing enhancement-personal use of a knife. Plead not guilty (again on 11/9/18). $5M bail, bail revoked (11/9/18). In custody of the Theo Lacy jail.
Trial was set to begin on 7/15/22 with jury selection was vacated for competency evaluation. Found competent (10/21/22) to stand trial.
Trial began on 2/7/24 with jury selection & ended on 2/8/24.
Jury selection began on 2/21/24 declared a mistrial. (Due to outburst from Woodward).

*Trial continues (Day 5) (@ 9am CET) – Germany/Portugal - Hazel Behan (20 @ time/now 40) (in her home, June 16, 2004, Praia de Rocha on the Algarve coast, 10 miles from Praia de Luz, Portimao, Portugal) - *Christian Stefan Brückner (Bruekner) (27 @ time of 1st crime (2004)/45/now 47) charged (Oct. 11, 2022) with sexual assault (suspect held a knife & brutally raped her. The accused then tied & gagged the woman to a table & raped her again. He then whipped the victim on the back with a whip he had brought with him & finally forcibly performed oral sex with the victim. The accused filmed large parts of the events with a video camera he had brought with him). Braunschweig Regional District Court
Germany/Portugal – *Charged (Oct. 11, 2022) & arrest warrant reinstated 11/18/22 - a 14 year old teenager (unknown victim) (on tape: assaulted/hit the naked girl with a whip. Said to have brutally forced the girl to have oral sex. The accused also videotaped this act). Took place between Dec. 28, 2000 to April 8, 2006 on the Praia da Luz, Algarve coast, Portugal.
Germany/Portugal - *Charged (Oct. 11, 2022) & arrest warrant reinstated 11/18/22 - an elderly woman 70-80 yrs old (unknown victim) a Tour Rep (tied up & raped the victim in her holiday apt. He then hit the victim several times with a whip. The accused is said to have recorded the entire event with a video camera). Took place around the same time (between Dec. 28, 2000 to April 8, 2006) on the Praia de Luz, Algarve coast, Portugal.
Germany/Portugal – *Charged (Oct. 11, 2022) & arrest warrant reinstated 11/18/22 - 10 year old German girl (Joana E.) (wearing only shoes & otherwise naked. He grabbed the child's wrist & began to perform masturbation movements on his naked penis). On Salema (Zalema) beach, near Praia de Luz, Portugal, April 7, 2007).
Germany/Portugal – *Charged (Oct. 11, 2022) & arrest warrant reinstated 11/18/22 - 11 year old Portuguese girl (pulled down his trousers & underpants & made masturbation movements on his naked penis in order to sexually arouse himself, until the frightened girl ran to her father for help. The suspect was arrested on the spot by the Portuguese police). Exposed himself in playpark, São Bartolomeu de Messines, June 11, 2017).
Trial began on February 16, 2024. (And continued on Feb. 23, Mar. 1, Mar. 14)
Trial dates: April 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 25, May 2, 3, 8, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, June 4, 5, 6, 25, 26, July 5, August 5, 15, 16, Sept. 5, 26, 27, Oct. 2, 7, 8, 21 & Oct. 22, 2024. (Expected to last up to 8 months, it was 3 months).
Presiding Judge Dr. Engemann. Lead Prosecutor Ute Lindermann. Defense attorneys Dr. Friedrich Fülscher, Philipp Marquort, Dennis Bock & Atilla Aykac.
Brueckner is currently serving a 7 year sentence for the 2005 rape on a pensioner. While he is still the main suspect in Madeleine case, these above cases will be tried first & he will be charged with Madeleine later (maybe!)

March 14, 2024 Trial Day 4: The two prosecutors commented on defense requests. And made heavy accusations against the lawyers of the man who is said to have kidnapped & murdered little Maddie McCann (then 3) in 2007. Defender Dr. Friedrich Fülscher (39) had requested that two texts written by the defendant & found on a USB stick during a search in 2016 not to be allowed as evidence. The public prosecutor's office requested that all applications of the defenders Dr. Fülscher (r.) & Prof. Bock (l.) to reject. The defense wanted to hear an expert as a witness who doubts an expert opinion from 2019. The court must now decide on the applications. The trial will next take place on the 3rd. April & should last until the end of June. As a precaution, Judge Uta Inse Engemann asked all parties involved to name free dates by the end of October. Gov’t Witness: Christian Post, friend of CB [music technician & part time teacher]. His comments came in a three hour video deposition which he gave in December, which was played in court after he told officials it was 'too far' for him to fly.

*Sentencing Hearing (@ 9am MT) - CO - 23 month old baby girl (died Jan. 2, 2022 from fentanyl (10 times the amount necessary to kill an intolerant adult user), Brighton) - *Alonzo Ray Montoya (31/now 33) arrested & charged (3/30/22) & arraigned (8/4/23) with child abuse resulting in death & [distribution of a controlled substance (Sched I or II)-decided 11/30/22]. Plead not guilty. $250K bond.
Trial began on 11/29/22 & ending 11/30/22 for distribution charge (Montoya only). No idea what happened.
Trial began on 1/8/24 with jury selection. Jury selected.
Trial began on 1/10/24 & ended on 1/22/4 with a guilty verdict. Sentencing hearing on 4/4/24.

*Plea Hearing (@ 10:30am CT) - TX - An Amber Alert was put out (10/18/22) after a 911 call for Nicholas Menina, 7, Zayden Menina, 10, Jovion Menina & Javier Menina, both 12, Jarod Menina, 14. Their older brother, 18-year-old Jamerian Robinson was also missing. Also assaulted 16 year old twins, girl & boy (no names given) who triggered the Amber Alert on Monday night 10/17/22. The children were last seen at around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 10/18/22 in the 8700 block of Marina Alto Lane in Cypress, a suburb of Houston. Found late on Tuesday, 10/18/22 with relatives near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. (Twins say they were forced to drink bleach, burned & beaten with curtain rods & kept handcuffed) - *Jova Terrell (27/now 28) aka YGB Joker (rapper name) (BF) arrested (10/18/22 in Baton Rouge, LA), charged (10/18/22) & arraigned (12/7/23) with 1 count of 1st degree child abuse & continuous violence against the family. Held without bond in Louisiana awaiting extradition to Texas. Extradited to Texas on 11/4/22. Bond set at $500K on 11/4/22. Bond set at $1M (11/10/22). Bond set at $750 (8/30/23).

3/30/24 Update: Judge says Atchison cannot seek mediation for life without parole.

*Trial set to begin (@ 9am PT) – OR – Kenneth Lee Griffin (53) (last seen Feb. 1, 2020 & reported missing on Feb. 2, 2020, Portland, found May 19, 2020 in Lovrien’s shed) - *Christopher Charles Lovrien (51 @ time of crime/52 now 57) indicted (4/30/20), re-indicted (3/10/21), charged (3/10/21) & arraigned (3/11/21) with 2nd degree murder, 1st degree abuse of a corpse & 6 counts of being a felon in possession of firearms. Plead not guilty. Held without bond.
Trial was set to begin on 7/31/23. Cases were severed.

4/5/24 Friday, Jury Selection Day 5: Jury selection continues with the rest of yesterday’s potential jurors. The judge says enough jurors have been secured for peremptory challenges. That will happen at 10am Monday. Court is dismissed for the day. We have 57 jurors.
Jury selection continues on Monday, 4/8/24. Prosecution & defense will use peremptory strikes to narrow pool down to 18 jurors (16 for each side).

3/6/24 Update: A status hearing on 3/25/24 @ 11am is to set a sentencing date according to Tracy Miller of the Pima County Attorney’s office. Tracy Miller said that the State will pursue a natural life sentence for Clements. Kessler said that sentence is likely what the judge will have to hand down.
3/25/24 Update: A 4/10/24 sentencing date for Clements was set Monday after a status hearing in Pima County Superior Court.

Took place around the same time (between Dec. 28, 2000 to April 8, 2006) on the Praia de Luz, Algarve coast, Portugal.

2/16/24 Friday, Trial Day 4: J District Attorney Kyle Cabelka & defense attorney David Autry gave closing arguments. Jury went to deliberations. It took the jury around two hours Friday to find Lilly guilty of felony counts of first-degree manslaughter & child abuse in Comanche County District Judge Jay Walker’s courtroom. The jury recommended he serve five years in prison for the manslaughter count & another 13 years for a charge of child abuse. Following a pre-sentence investigation, Lilly will be formally sentenced at 9 am on 4/12/24. Remanded to the custody of CCDC without bond.
Bonnie Beth Mills-Lilly (42/now 48) - Trial was set to begin on 9/25/23, but trial was vacated/continued due to pending competency. Bonnie Lilly is scheduled for the April/May jury trial docket for the same charge as her husband. No update as of 2/15/24.

4/6/24 Update: Judge Steven Boyce sealed a last-minute request that both the prosecution & defense want removed. The contents of the request are unknown, but it comes from an award-winning Idaho trial lawyer who is not tied to either legal team in the case. In Tuesday’s sealing order, Judge Boyce wrote, “Both the State & the Defense have raised concerns about the impropriety of this attempt to intervene-procedurally & substantively.” He wrote that both counsels called for the document to be sealed or struck from the record. A court document shows the request is titled “Motione (sic) to intervene and to contiue (sic) the trial in these procedings (sic).”
4/8/24 Monday, Jury Selection Day 6: We have 57 jurors for final selection. Prosecution & defense will use peremptory strikes to narrow pool down to 18 jurors (16 for each side). 4/10/24 Update: Clements received a natural life sentence for the murder of Isabel in Tucson more than a decade ago. Clements was convicted in February of first-degree murder, kidnapping & second-degree burglary for the abduction of Isabel. At today’s sentencing, the judge sentenced Clements, in addition to the natural life sentence for murder, to 17 years for kidnapping & 3 1/2 years for burglary.

4/11/24 Docket update: Notice of Hearing. An Order to Show Cause hearing is scheduled on 4/18/24 @ 3:30pm per Judge Steven Boyce. A motion to delay the trial of Chad Daybell was filed late Friday night but little is known about why it was filed and what is contained in the motion. Terry Ratliff, a lawyer who practices in Mountain Home, filed the motion through the iCourt portal. Wendy Olson, an attorney hired by EastIdahoNews.com last year to argue for camera access during the trial, was served the motion, along with prosecutors & the defense. Judge Boyce instructed the attorneys not to disseminate the motion & on Tuesday, he signed an order sealing it. Boyce temporarily sealed the motion until he’s able to schedule a hearing to determine whether it will remain sealed “and set the substance of the motion for hearing [on 4/18].”

*Sentencing Hearing (@ 9am ET) – NY – Wendy Jerome (14) (Nov. 22, 1984, raped & severely beaten to death, found later that night lying in an alcove of Schools 33 & 11 at Webster Ave. a couple of blocks from her home) - *Timothy Lee Williams (20 @ time of crime/56/now 59) arrested & charged (9/9/20), indicted (9/28/20) & arraigned (10/22/20) with 2 counts of 2nd degree murder & intention. Plead not guilty. Held without bond.
DNA familial search/Williams became a suspect after the New York State crime lab uploaded DNA from the crime scene to a database & came up with profiles of relatives.
Trial began on 11/29/23 & ended 12/16/23 in a mistrial.

He then hit the victim several times with a whip. The accused is said to have recorded the entire event with a video camera). Took place around the same time (between Dec. 28, 2000 to April 8, 2006) on the Praia de Luz, Algarve coast, Portugal.

April 12, 2024 Trial Day 8: Witnesses: A Portuguese girl told a court how Brueckner indecently exposed himself in front of her when she was just 11 years old. The girl, now an 18-year-old student, recalled her ordeal in the Algarve town of Sao Bartolomeu de Messines in 2017. Breaking down as she gave evidence via video link from Portugal, she told the court in Germany that Brueckner had exposed himself with children playing nearby. The girl's father testified.

2/16/24 Friday, Trial Day 4: J District Attorney Kyle Cabelka & defense attorney David Autry gave closing arguments. Jury went to deliberations. It took the jury around two hours Friday to find Lilly guilty of felony counts of first-degree manslaughter & child abuse in Comanche County District Judge Jay Walker’s courtroom. The jury recommended he serve five years in prison for the manslaughter count & another 13 years for a charge of child abuse. Following a pre-sentence investigation, Lilly will be formally sentenced at 9 am on 4/12/24. Remanded to the custody of CCDC without bond.
4/12/24 Update: Judge Jay Walker sentenced Lilly: 1st degree manslaughter to 5 years, $10K fine/court costs & child abuse charge to 13 years & $10K fine/court costs. Counts ! & 2 to run consecutively. Pre-sentence investigation fee assessed to defendant is payable to DOC of $500. 2 years DOC supervision upon release. Credit for time served Defendant is remanded to the custody of CCDC without bond to await transportation to DOC. Notice of intent to appeal; designation of record; order determining indigency, appellate counsel, preparation of appeal record & granting trial counsel's motion to withdraw. Notification of appropriate appellate counsel if appointed by Judge Walker.

4/19/24 Friday, Jury Selection Day 4: Twenty-two possible jurors left over from yesterday were brought in as jury selection resumed. Lawyers on each side have many challenges to spend now that we are in the alternate phase: 12 each, in fact. By noon (ET) the 4th alternate had been chosen. After day of jury selection, the court has finally chosen all 12 jurors & 6 alternate jurors. The 6 alternate jurors were sworn in. With the jury bench now full, the trial is expected to move towards opening statements next week.

Trial set to begin with opening statements on Monday, 4/22/24. Judge Merchan has decided to end court at 2pm Monday & Tuesday to allow Jewish participants to get to Passover services.
*Sandoval hearing on Friday, 4/19/24. Started @ 3:15pm ET. Judge Merchan is expected to hold what’s known as a Sandoval hearing, a type of hearing designed to let defendants know the scope of questions they could face from prosecutors on cross-examination so they can make informed decisions about whether to take the witness stand in their own defense.
In this case, the main issues prosecutors want to bring up if Trump decides to testify are previous court cases that undercut his credibility. They include:
• Two recent court findings that Trump defamed E Jean Carroll, who accused him of raping her.
• A recent court finding that Trump illegally inflated his business assets to get better loan terms, which led to a nearly half-billion-dollar penalty in a recent civil business fraud trial.
• Trump’s lawsuit against Hillary Clinton, which was dismissed in 2022 as “frivolous” & “bad faith” by the judge.
• A 2016 campaign fundraiser held by the Donald J Trump Foundation that violated campaign finance law, forcing him to pay $2m for breach of fiduciary duty.
Trump attorney Emil Bove argued that to bring in the Carroll verdicts would push “the salaciousness onto another level” for the case. But prosecutors called it “critical, critical” evidence. Judge Merchan said he would announce what he’ll permit on Monday.
*Judge Merchan has outlined the next steps for prosecutors’ request to have Trump held in contempt over several social media posts (7 more) bout witnesses in the trial. Germany/Portugal – *Charged (Oct. 11, 2022) & arrest warrant reinstated 11/18/22 - a 14 year old teenager (unknown victim) (on tape: assaulted/hit the naked girl with a whip. Said to have brutally forced the girl to have oral sex. The accused also videotaped this act). Took place between Dec. 28, 2000 to April 8, 2006 on the Praia da Luz, Algarve coast, Portugal.
Germany/Portugal - *Charged (Oct. 11, 2022) & arrest warrant reinstated 11/18/22 - an elderly woman 70-80 yrs old (unknown victim) a Tour Rep (tied up & raped the victim in her holiday apt. He then hit the victim several times with a whip. The accused is said to have recorded the entire event with a video camera). Took place around the same time (between Dec. 28, 2000 to April 8, 2006) on the Praia de Luz, Algarve coast, Portugal.
Germany/Portugal – *Charged (Oct. 11, 2022) & arrest warrant reinstated 11/18/22 - 10 year old German girl (Joana E.) (wearing only shoes & otherwise naked. He grabbed the child's wrist & began to perform masturbation movements on his naked penis). On Salema (Zalema) beach, near Praia de Luz, Portugal, April 7, 2007).
Germany/Portugal – *Charged (Oct. 11, 2022) & arrest warrant reinstated 11/18/22 – Ines VP (11 year old Portuguese girl) (pulled down his trousers & underpants & made masturbation movements on his naked penis in order to sexually arouse himself, until the frightened girl ran to her father for help. 11/17/23 Update: Hearings on 11/17/23 were disposed. Request for continuance pursuant to PC 1050 filed. Next trial readiness conference hearing on 3/7/24 @ 8:30am & felony settlement hearing for Owen.
3/7/24 Update: 3/7/24 Update: Gary Shover plead guilty & admitted the felony count under a plea agreement with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office. Shover was originally charged with first-degree murder & a special-circumstance allegation of lying in wait, but after a 2022 preliminary hearing, a judge dismissed those counts & the accessory charge was substituted for him alone & was immediately sentenced to a year in jail. In addition to a year in county jail, Superior Court Judge John Molloy ordered Shover to serve 12 months of probation & pay victim restitution, in an amount to be determined later by the Department of Probation. Owen Shover is being held without bail at the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta & trial proceedings for him are slated to begin on 4/25/24. 12/19/23 Tuesday, Trial Day 11: An Anchorage jury about two hours of deliberation to convict McQuade found guilty of first-degree murder & second-degree murder in the death of 16-year-old Shelley. McQuade has been living in Gresham & has been free on bail for several years. After the guilty verdict, McQuade was handcuffed & taken back into custody with sentencing scheduled for 4/26/24.

4/26/24 Update: Anchorage Superior Court Judge Andrew Peterson sentenced McQuade to serve 50 years in prison for the death of Shelley Connolly. McQuade was convicted in December of 1st & 2nd degree murder in Connolly’s killing. Prosecutors during Friday’s hearing said the sentence provides some closure for friends & family but comes after so many decades that many, including Connolly’s mother, died before seeing a resolution.

4/26/24 Update: Lovrien has been sentenced to life in prison. A jury convicted Christopher Lovrien earlier this month for the murder and dismemberment of a man he met at a bar in 2020.

Gary Farro, a Flagstar Bank employee who had had Cohen as a client & whose testimony was used to verify a paper trail of banking information from Cohen around the time of the 2016 election. He allegedly helped set up the home equity line of credit through which Cohen paid Daniels.
*The trial will resume Tuesday, 4/30/24 with testimony from Gary Farro.
