Nice catch on the 4th one. I've maintained all along that the 402 months is a prison sentence. Although I have been opened up to the idea that it could be a religious sort of statement as well. Unfortunately the name of the victim could never be found out in that case.

And Bethlehem, PA is only 61 miles from the Library listed on the sheet, which is likely found in Strafford, Pennsylvania.

If LEK was Melissa Highsmith it could be that the birthmark faded a bit over the years or she had it treated with a laser. I was born with a small birthmark on the right side of my face about an inch wide and it gradually faded on its own to the point that it was so faint it was barely visible even without makeup. A few years ago while getting some cosmetic laser stuff done I had the remaining faint mark zapped away. It was pretty inexpensive and almost painless. Depending on how dark a birthmark is or how large, it might take multiple treatments if you wanted it to disappear, but it could be easily done.

If her parents had come over here from abroad, had her, and gone back, as I suggested in an earlier post, her description of her father as a failed stockbroker could just be a flippant reference. She might have been aware of the Kings. Think of what you have to go through every time you make up a password. First I look around the room. Her parents might have been significantly older. That scribbled sheet might be an attempt to create normal-looking parents. If her parents were significantly older, they could be dead and overseas buried somewhere. The late 1980s were nasty. Even if you weren't directly affected by the market swings, construction could have dried up somewhere. Hence the failed stockbroker remarks, too. If she had a typically tough love upbringing there wouldn't have been any reason for her to go back. Far-fetched, but who knows.

I've been doing a little searching for Lorene K. Some websites show her last name as Wilkinson now so she's possibly remarried but there are no other females associated with her that I can see. She doesn't appear to have had any children.

So there'd be something just enough wrong with her papers to cause her problems. Also she seems so uninformed about normal behavior and that could come from being real isolated in some sense, rather than just ignorance. That could be from cult association or being foreign.

A couple of geographical notes: 1) Boulder City is in Nevada, not Colorado. Is it possible that in addition to the SoCal/Hollywood angle that perhaps this woman worked at a brothel in Nevada before changing her name? Would have to do some research on if that makes sense for the early-mid 80s. 2) Calling a library in Strafford, PA, for a case in Bethlehem seems a little odd. There are plenty of libraries in Bethlehem proper.

I'm looking through ALL of the posts to see if Melissa Highsmith has been brought up, but while I do that, if anyone specifically remembers, I would appreciate it if you could let me know and save me the trouble. :) http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/h/highsmith_melissa.html
I just can't help thinking that Lori was probably protecting the person who kidnapped her as a child and raised her- which explains why she took on a new identity when she turned 18.

Yes she has been mentioned, but we never came to any conclusion about her.

Discussed and ruled out:
The story of the potential abduction http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/66uffl.html
Status: Timeline is off. LEK had already established a new identity in 1988, so why would she have been in danger in 1989? LEK was establishing her life in Texas by that time. Remarkable likeness, but not her.

Anne Fahey https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/8229 last seen in 1996. Timeline does not fit with FLEK

Gayla Barnes 1956 Colorado https://www.colorado.gov/apps/coldcase/casedetail.html?id=2201 and https://www.findthemissing.org/cases/7170/4/ Status: Timeline is off, Gayla was last seen in 1990 when FLEK was already established in Texas.

Lisa Dickinson 1967 California http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/802dfca.html (Foul play is suspected) Wrong eye color, hair color (blue/blonde) listed as blonde hair, but she was 9 years old when she went missing, often hair darkens as people age. The bridge of the nose is wider (however, her age and also the possible nose job would fix that), the distance between her eyes is wider. She also has the nasolabial folds that Lori Ruff does NOT have. Lori Ruff was pretty wide in the mouth/nose area, leading to nothing in the way of nasolabial folds that some people have. She actually has a unique shape to her face and mouth in some ways. http://www.walnut-creek.org/citygov/depts/police/cold_case_investigations/dickinson_kidnapping.asp

Sherry Lynn Marler 1971 Alabama http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/m/marler_sherry.html http://doenetwork.org/cases/215dfal.html
Timing is off. She was 12 when she dissappeared from south AL in 1984. The age is off, unlikely that a 16 yr old from AL would have the smarts to make it to the Pacific NW and change her identity.

Alice Pereira 1967 New York http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/134dfny.html Unlikely, since she was last seen with a known child murderer, Andre Rand, who is currently serving time.

Shelly Anne Bacsu 1967 Alberta, Canada http://doenetwork.org/cases/28dfab.html Had hearing impairment and rheumatoid arthritis.

Eric A. was about 52 y/o when he died in 1988. Frustrating I'm not able to pull up the obituaries for either one, I keep getting "Server Error"

Maybe it's something to do with my computer, perhaps someone else can try who has an Ancestry membership? I don't know what to think, other than I'm sure this is probably grasping at straws, lol, but FWIW, here is a stockbroker who committed suicide in 1987, and there is an Eric A. Any relation? Does it have anything to do with LEK? who knows....

Anyway, Eric A. immigrated from Ireland and applied for naturalized citizenship in 1985. Unfortunately there are no census records on him and his family available, at least I assume so, and none I can find.

Eric A's previous addresses are shown as:

4914 S 368th St, Auburn, WA, 98001-8861 (1992) ? (family member?)
[1530 Vista Dr, Puyallup, WA, 98372-5103]
[3331 South St 92nd, Tacoma, WA, 98402 (1987)]
[3331 South St 92nd, Tacoma, WA, 98498 (1987)]
Probably also grasping at (a lot of) straws, but if you look up that EAK on Peoplefinders, one of his "possible relationships" is with a woman with the first name Lorene. They appear to be the same age. Wonder if they had any children...

Wanted to show the "Lorene" part someone found and also to point out this guy died in 1988 as well. Maybe she was forced to start over? I.e. no legal immigration papers and now her relative is gone? I am new here. Is that what's called mustarding?
Definitely not Mustard mode, you are exploring possible connections to LEK. Mustarding would be a two page treatise about prostitution or drugs, when there is no evidence for anything like that except someone's intuition. These cases respond more to the Wright Brothers methodical approach (She lived this place at that time, do neighbors remember her?) than to Counselor Troi ( I feel.....BULIMIA.....).
I am betting that LE has some good leads (Laciner) but does not wasn't to share.
And Kathy Yeoung seems to be very silent. Anyone heard a statement from her?

But it doesn't say that the victim was 'from' Bethlehem. It says "The presentencing investigation reminds us that the victims, when they arrived at the apartment, were confronted by a pistol." And at this time, the woman who was raped was 19 years old (born ca1964). According the the level of violence used...I too would be terrified of their release.

Also, has anyone seen this photo, which clearly displays her long fingers:

Yeah, sorry mine's all intuition right now. I let my Ancestry subscription expire. And some of my intuitions require access to big law enforcement networks. Newspapers don't systemetize info on any consistent basis back that far (I know a few articles have been pulledup.). You have to get microfilm for some of it. Howevr here goes with another intuition beofre I go do errands: Failed stockbroker could also refer to ranching (either the traditional kind or the untraditional Nevada-kind.) Again, excuse the endless intuitions.

I tweeted and instagramed Kathy, no response yet.

i think melissa highsmith has her dna in the system.. if she was born in a lds or a comunie why would she change her id she would have no reason to those kinds of people dont live like normal people and they would not be looking for her. there is more to her story and we just need to keep digging deeper and deeper

I work in a brothel three times a year in NV. You are finger printed, entered into the system to see if you are a felon, have warrants, were arrested within certain time frames for various charges or missing persons. You have to get a license (sheriffs card) and screened for std's and sti's. It's all on record in NV with the dept of health and the county sheriff's office. If she had ever worked legally, when they ran her prints - it would have popped up.

I just realized she has clubbed fingers. I believe that's the term.

I haven't posted in a while, but here's what my 'intuition' says about this woman. LR seems to have had a persecution complex. Things like paranoid schizophrenia (which I'm not saying she had) tend to develop in the early twenties. I think LR did all this to escape an abusive situation, real or imagined. I believe she had mental issues, but appeared to be high functioning, regardless. It's possible she was reported missing, but like many missing person reports, she fell through the cracks.

I wish we had some information on any accents she might have had. Most Texans speak with an accent, and notice people who don't.

So there'd be something just enough wrong with her papers to cause her problems. Also she seems so uninformed about normal behavior and that could come from being real isolated in some sense, rather than just ignorance. That could be from cult association or being foreign
.
It also could explain her interest in childish things like Easy-Bake ovens, if she never had those things when she was a child.

I just realized she has clubbed fingers. I believe that's the term.

And the more that I look at that pic, the more I am wondering about Marfan's syndrome (which I know has already been suggested).

Factors to consider:

1) Marfan's is hereditary.
2) Marfan's can affect the heart, which LEK's medication may exacerbate.
3) LEK may simply have 'Beals syndrome' and not Marfan's.
4) LEK and BR's daughter may carry the gene as well, if her mother did.
5) Marfan's affects about 1/3,000. This could possibly narrow down possibilities of relatives, if she suffered from it.

(details from Wikipedia)

Probably evidence that LE has dug up themselves. Which technically they don't have to divulge to the public. That and it could also mention names of people they haven't looked into or couldn't locate yet. One thing LE doesn't like is giving away all the info so that someone else can solve it lol . JMHO

Seconded. I think the only evidence they have shared is from her lockbox (labeled "crafts", according to Seattle Times).

The investigator said that she had "no discernible accent" which lead him to believe that she may be from the Northwest.
