Maverick Crawford's family last spoke with him on his 28th birthday on April 14th. His mother says they have a close relationship, and keep in contact.

“I’m very concerned. I just want to know that he is ok,” said Vernita Wheeler, Maverick Crawford's Mother.

Crawford has overcome many obstacles obtaining a bachelors degree in criminal justice from UTSA, and also has a masters degree in social work.

“He is a very intelligent man, and he knows to stay in contact with his family,” said Jackie Lee, Maverick's Aunt.

Maverick Crawford was selected out of 1500 students as the Most Outstanding Undergraduate Student in the College of Public Policy at UTSA.
