Found Deceased UK - Chloe Mitchell, 21, last seen at 6.45pm in the Harryville area of Ballymena, Co Antrim, NI, 2 Jun 2023 *arrests*

I wonder if Chloe knew either of these two men.
Im thinking she knew at least the 26 year old (who we now know has a history of sexual assault on children), as I understand it she was walking in the direction of his flat? But I could be wrong and misunderstood, I’ll go back through articles. <modsnip - no link>

If I could take a stab at the arrests, I’d suggest the 26 year old called the 30 year old for help with some sort of cleanup or disposal. Hence the burning of items and freshly washed sneakers mentioned in the article above.

Searches for missing Co Antrim woman Chloe Mitchell continued as two men remained in police custody.

Teams from the volunteer-based Community Rescue Service organisation were focused on an area of steeply sloped undergrowth between commercial premises and the River Braid on Sunday afternoon.

Ms Mitchell, 21, was last seen on CCTV in the early hours of Saturday June 3 in Ballymena town centre.

A 26-year-old man arrested in Lurgan, Co Armagh, on Thursday in connection with the police investigation continued to be questioned on Sunday after officers on Saturday secured a 36-hour extension to his detention period.

A second man, 34, was detained in the Ballymena area on Saturday. He also remained in custody on Sunday.

Without being super familiar with law outside of the US, how difficult is it to get an extension on these holds of the arrested?
The police in the UK can hold a person for 24 hours at first, if for a serious crime and for gathering more evidence to charge they can hold a person for upto 96 hours I believe, they have to apply to a higher power for this extension. They then have to charge or release at the end of this period.

Community prayers to be said for Chloe

There will be a time of community prayer for Chloe and the Mitchell family tonight (Sunday 11th) at 8:30pm in Harryville Presbyterian Church Hall on Casement Street. Everyone welcome.

Apologies, I didn’t have the link earlier. Here you can read about Chloe’s possible connection to a well-known 60 year old cocaine dealer. The fact that she had connections of this sort make me so very concerned for her well-being. He was in custody when she disappeared (for assault), so not related to her disappearance. Just more to add to the picture.
