It is now six years since Claudia Lawrence disappeared without trace in York. Despite the intensive efforts of the police, the resolve of her heart-broken family and saturated media coverage, her sudden disappearance remains a mystery.

North Yorkshire Police's commitment and determination to solve the case and bring closure for Claudia's loved-ones, is undiminished by the passage of time.

Detective Superintendent Dai Malyn, head of the force's enhanced Major Crime Unit, is leading a comprehensive review of the original investigation.

This has been supported by national experts from other forces and agencies, including forensic specialists who recently completed a re-examination of Claudia's home on Heworth Road in York.

As a result of this work, Det Supt Malyn and his team have identified new lines of enquiry and fresh public appeals to pursue, as well as renewed appeals on previous key items of interest to the investigation.

Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Mason, Head of Crime for North Yorkshire Police, said: "The decision to focus and prioritise the efforts of the enhanced Major Crime Unit on this case and undertake a comprehensive review of the original investigation, is producing progressive results which we expect to continue over time."

I had an observation about the Ford CCTV. Does anyone else think it had a big dent diver side rear? Could just be the contours of the model but looks like it has a big dent. Could have been bought at auction and disposed of soon after.

It could also have been a car that was ready to be processed for scrap.
There is a regulated process and those doing it are supposed to have a vehicle disposal licence. The process involves draining all engine oil and fuel into separate tanks, exploding the air bags, and then taking out the engine and any saleable parts, including tyres. During 2005 / 2009 certain scrap dealers would either do this themselves or have cars sent to them from specialist vehicle disposal yards. Around this time, it was possible to flaunt regulations and apply for a "temporary" licence. Problem with this was the word temporary. Many who applied never reached the high standards of regulation to gain a permanent licence.
In my blog, I discuss LH scrap metal business in Mansfield street and how a few weeks/ months earlier there was a fire here. This was because they crushed a car that still had petroleum traces left in fuel tank.?????
It is quite possible that Claudia met her end of days in this way-A car destined for the scrap yard does a short trip ( 4 minutes 0.9 miles) and returns to the yard????

The straighteners - the update on the NYP site (it just says 17 April, doesn't say which year), bolding mine :

If she was going out straight from work or going to do a friends hair, someone else who has natural curly hair and like Claudia likes it straight. But today has her natural curls because she can't bear the thought of using hair straighteners? Who could that be?????

Good to hear from you again and pleased you are ok. Yes that was quite a development. I saw that also.
Seems SC was measured in her response and JK was her usual gobby self whilst many of the members were their usual-"Poor Claudia's Mum"-self.

I know one of group members messaged me and said how could JK be suffering still when she responds in that way to someone who was trying to get the truth-Is the truth going to be difficult for more than the 4 arrested?

If she does PJ it will be full of part facts like the book "Gone" that was part written with the permission and input of Martin Dale-Peters great friend and appointed PR person. Joan didn't really know her daughter was so promiscuous and it would bad for her lady of Malton and Mayorship reputation. Hence her being in denial.
I'm not being disrespectful to her but she stunted the investigation by trying to crucify Galloway.
He circulated a Blonde picture because he found used Blonde hair dye-Correct
He spoke of her Complex affairs-Correct

Her war with Peter doesn't help as the two of them couldn't agree on facts to present to the investigation. I can see how the marriage broke up.
