UK- Costessey, 4 People Found Dead In Home

I cannot imagine what mother is going through.
Daughters - dead.
Sister - dead.

What was wrong with the husband?

I hope the mother is getting some psychological help.
A person might go mad with despair :(

So,
To sum up latest reports:
(Links in the thread)

- husband was suffering from cryptic MH issues (neighbours said so)

- he was seeking help (according to neighbours)

- he stopped working

- Social Services was involved with the family
(reasons unknown)

- he was a patient of MH services
(was he taking any meds?)

- one day he vanished,
Police was called,
he was reported wandering aimlessly in some woods
(did he stop taking meds?)

- he called Emergency Number complaining about his mental health

- tragedy happened

:(

So it seems he was in contact with:

1) MH service
2) Social Services
3) Police
4) Emergency Service

"Police worker is facing misconduct probe

to home where the bodies of father, his two daughters and sister-in-law were found dead

in a suspected murder-suicide tragedy.

A police civilian employee
is facing disciplinary action
for gross misconduct
after a force failed to respond to a 999 call at a property where four people were later found
dead with stab wounds.

The watchdog has not given its reason for the decision,
nor has it named the individual,
who has been suspended while the investigation continues."

Oh dear. I was hoping that at least he hadn't said anything that would reasonably justify a police response. Just for the call-takers sake, because it would be a terrible thing to live with even if you did everything expected based on what you were told at the time.

It's easy to hear and consider every line someone is saying when you can sit listening to a playback or reading a transcript with 100% concentration. Far easier to not hear something said or not comprehend a warning sign when your having to work out what's actually going on, actively communicate with a caller, extract and and type in names/addresses/details, check the history, stear and emotionally manage the call all at the same time.

I also hope this isn't a case of throwing the call-taker under the bus because Norfolk did a poor job of staff training before they rolled out their new "we ain't going to mental health jobs" policy like a month before this happened.

Maybe it will turn out the call-taker ignored really obvious information that should have had police around there on their blues. That happens sometimes.

However If they missed something he said, or if Norfolk is pretending they'd attend on said information (but really they wouldn't have.) Then I feel terribly sorry for whoever that call-taker is.
