Malton man charged with murder following death of woman pulled from River Derwent

A man has been charged with murder in connection to the incident in Malton earlier this week

A police spokesperson said: " We’re now in a position to name the woman who sadly died after being pulled from the River Derwent at Malton on Wednesday as 49-year-old Lisa Welford from Malton.
“Detectives investigating the incident have charged a 47-year-old Malton man, who was known to Lisa, with murder. He is due to appear at court on Monday 29 of April 2024".

Man charged with woman's murder appears at York Magistrates' Court

A man has appeared at York Magistrates' Court accused of murdering a woman who was pulled out of a North Yorkshire river.

Vincent Joseph Morgan, 47, of Chandler's Wharf, Castlegate, Malton, was charged with murde (…) He also faces two charges of causing actual bodily harm to Ms Welford between February 1 and February 29 this year.
