Donald Robertson was convicted by unanimous verdict at Reading Crown Court of murdering 26-year-old Shani Warren, and of kidnapping and raping a teenager in 1981, decades after his "horrendous" crimes.

Robertson did not attend the trial and the dock at Reading Crown Court was empty on Tuesday as a jury found him guilty of both crimes.

I hadn't heard of this but watched the documentary. So awful that the crime very nearly went unnoticed. Glad her family got answers but also this monster is behind bars hopefully for the rest of his life.

There's an article in the Fulham Chronicle (Jul 31 1986) about a woman who was raped in the toilets by Putney bridge. The suspect wore an earring with an R dangling from it and it looks like Donald.

Just watched it, thanks for the link. I hadn't been aware of this case until by chance today I saw an article from 2022 in a pile of old newspapers.

The arrogance and smug smile of the Home Office pathologist Benjamin Davis really angered me.

Seemed a bit strange that she put bags of grass cuttings into the car and drove away with them at around 6:30 PM on a Good Friday evening, and the bags were empty when the car was found. Don't think there would be anywhere open to dispose of them at that time.

Glad for the family that it's been solved.
