apparently they are working on dna to compare against Georgia Nolan...so that's good news to helping identify her.

Bumping for this lady who was located in an area I'm familiar with. I had not heard of this case before, does anyone have any new ideas?

There is another thread (Possible Match GA - Unidentified Female - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community) where someone suggested a possible match between Gloria Jean Baird and an UID that was discovered in Georgia in 1973 (http://doenetwork.org/cases/231ufga.html). This possible match was called in, but as of now, there are no results.

I personally think that the UID discovered in Georgia is a better possible match than the UID found in WV and I'm curious about the results.

I was looking around online, and found this article that says back in 2008 a woman came forward claiming the unidentified woman could be her mother who went missing in 1976. View profile of mother here:

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/n/nolan_georgia.html

Authorities were sending off for a DNA comparison of the two women. I wonder why they never posted an update about the results? Was this woman ruled out?

The article can be read here:

Thank you both :) I hope we hear something about the DNA results soon!

First, should the name of this thread be changed? It appears this victim was found in Virginia not West Virginia, although the road does run into WV.

This may be a way far out match but if it was a trucker or something like that who committed this crime, who knows?

The height and time frame fit and Vicki was a seamstress as it was suggested the victim may be.

*bumping again*

Hard to believe it's been almost 2 years since I last posted in this thread. I visited this area over the summer for the first time in a long while and thought about this lady. I hope she can be identified some day.

As a previous poster pointed out Rockingham County is in VA not WV as the thread title indicates.

The picture you have, is the only picture I have unfortunately.

Here are two photos of your mother (Gloria Baird) from the 1964 Glynn Academy Yearbook (if you haven't found them since the above quoted post):

Case History

The victim was located in a secluded wooded area, in the George Washington National Forest, off of Virginia Route 33 in Rockingham County, Virginia. The body was partially in a grave, and it was apparent that there was foul play involved.

This route is not a normal trucking route and runs through this county into West Virginia. There was a 1964 coin located and the death appears to have occurred between 1964 and early 1979. There was evidence with the dental work that suggests that the person could have possibly been a seamstress. She could have possibly been a hairdresser, or possibly had some type of habit where she kept a bobby pin or pins in between her teeth.

Not much to go on, but possibly Juanita Reedy Juanita Reedy – The Charley Project? She has been missing from Beckley, WV since 9 November 1979. Her car was later found burning in Pipestem, WV nine days after she was last seen. At 39 she is older than the upper end of the age range for this UID but the rest of her demographics match. At the time of her disappearance Juanita was described as being 5'2" tall, 130 pounds, had brown hair and eyes. There is little information out there about her case, I wasn't able to find any other photos of her besides the one in both links, whether she'd been married or not, or if she had children like they suspect this UID did. Beckley, WV is approximately 190 miles from where this Jane Doe was found.
