Brianne F. Nicoletti, 34, also known as Brianne Hyde, is facing charges of physical abuse, false imprisonment, reckless endangerment, neglect and causing mental harm the child— 10 charges in all– according to court documents.

The criminal complaint accuses Nicoletti of feeding the boy only one time a day and not at all some days, locking him in his bedroom for long periods of time, hitting him with metal objects and preventing him from going to the bathroom when locked in his room.

Grrrrr. How long has this neglect and cruelty been going on? SMH.
In what condition is this 15 y/o? I cannot imagine it has been going on for 15 years -- seems to me he would not have lived this long... But I am no doctor...
Bless this child and let him be in good medical and psychological care.
Hoping she is in Very Big Trouble.
I could not access the news article cited above -- is she his mother or aunt or what connection does she have with him?
Why, why, why?

Nicoletti, who’s Native American, adopted the boy who was unidentified and lived at 82855 Lenawee Road in the town of Clover.

They were concerned about the boy’s wellbeing and took him to Tamarack health where he was later admitted due to concerns for his condition. Staff found that the boy had lost 17 pounds since his last visit in July, 2022, weighing in at 70 pounds, and was “well below normal growth chart.” They could see significant bony prominence of his shoulders, clavicles, and muscle wasting between his ribs.

My first question: Did she get paid money every month to care for him? Because her motive definitely wasn't love or wanting to help him. Poor boy.

I'm so glad this boy is alive. A happy ending here. Let's hope his "mom" is locked up for a long time.
