Abbott certainly seems to be getting some privileges, is he about to sing in return for a cruisier time in jail.
He doesnt appear to have a lot to lose at this stage.

Abbott told the court that, after he met Mr Jones inside prison, he was put in isolation.

"I was locked in me room for a number of weeks until you were moved out of there, because the officer said I was going to be shivved [stabbed]."

Another witness, the former owner of Johns River General store Patrick Teeling, told the inquest that Abbott "run up behind me" after William disappeared.

"[He] was saying, 'I knew they'd get him, I knew they'd get him,' " said Mr Teeling, who told the inquest he had never discussed William with Abbott before.

Tyrrell inquest hears of puzzling chat - 9News

Patrick Teeling, the Johns River General Store owner, said Abbott came up to him when news broke that Tyrrell investigators had seized a car associated with another person of interest, Tony Jones.
No one has ever been charged over the disappearance of William who vanished while playing at his foster grandmother's Kendall home on the morning of September 12.
"Frank was saying 'I knew they'd get him, I knew they'd get him'," Mr Teeling told the Coroners Court.
"I said 'Who' and he said 'That Jones chap' and I wondered what that was all about."
Mr Teeling told the court he'd not previously discussed the Tyrrell investigation with Abbott who he'd known since the early 1990s.

Mrs Northam said she was "sort of concerned" about the scratches, but didn't press any further and she and her husband remained friendly with Abbott, who returned to the Mid North Coast after the state failed in its attempts to convict him of murder over Helen's death.

Nobody has ever been charged over Ms Cox's death.

Where is the scrap metal business that the Northams own/owned located? Taree area or closer to Kendall?

Abbott is now questioning Jones himself and asked him about two men he saw in the bush in Kendall, when he claims one man said his name was Jones. Jones denied it was him. Jones also said “you just admitted we never met, Frank”.

My guess would be Hastings Scrap Metal @ Wauchope. Handy for AJ and they deal from Kempsey to Johns River.

No worries I got what you meant. That was my thinking as well. If a woman went missing in Taree, and FA was being considered it was likely that FA had a reason to be in the Taree area.
As it turns out he was in the area doing work around the Northams neighbours propery at old bar. Just a couple of days after the body of the young woman was found FA was questioned about marks on his arms by Mr Northam, according to this article.

Peter Huntley told the court Frank Abbott lived next door to their house in a caravan in 2015. The caravan was previously occupied by Geoff Owen, who testified at the inquest last year about the work he did at William’s foster grandmother’s house installing decking.
