Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian female. Blonde hair, hazel eyes. Geurin always wears eyeglasses with large plastic frames; she is legally blind without them. She has a large scar on her abdomen from three Caesarean section operations. Her nickname is Judy. Geurin has previously broken her collarbone and wrist. ​

Clothing/Jewelry Description: A large, ornate square-shaped platinum and diamond ring, and a unique necklace with a floating opal. Clothing unknown, but she usually wore a turtleneck shirt, a sweater and matching pants. ​

Details of Disappearance
Geurin was last seen in Sodus Point, New York on January 28, 1991. She has never been heard from again. All her possessions, including her trailer, were left behind and were later sold. She was employed as a cook at a restaurant in 1991. ​


Geurin was involved in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend, Curtis M. Pucci, at the time she went missing. Pucci is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges, serving a fifteen-year sentence for assaulting his roommate. Geurin's daughter believes he murdered her mother. He has never been charged in connection with her case, however. Geurin's life in early 1991 was deeply troubled. Her husband had died suddenly in 1988. She had begun drinking heavily and left four of her children in the care of her oldest child. She always maintained contact with her children, however. Her daughter reported her as a missing person in 2006. Authorities initially believed she left of her own accord to avoid legal trouble, as she'd been charged with forging checks and driving while intoxicated. Investigators now believe other factors may have been involved in her disappearance, however. Her case remains unsolved. ​

When people disappear, they tend to do it all at once. But not Judith A. Geurin; she began to fade from her middle-class existence gradually.

It began in the summer of 1988 after her husband, Joseph, died of a heart attack at the age of 57.

In the raw stages of grief, Mrs. Geurin — a woman who had never been known to drink — lost a piece of herself amid the liquor bottles that began cluttering her four-bedroom colonial-style house in Cohoes, a small town about 15 miles north of Albany.

Then she disengaged from family gatherings and other motherly obligations in favor of neighborhood bars. She eventually left her children for a new man.

With her eldest child already married and with a family of his own, care of the other children fell to the next oldest, Amy, the only daughter.

Although only 17 when her father died, she reshaped her plans for the future and eventually took charge of her three younger brothers. She was angry with her mother, but believed that someday she would return.

That is when Mrs. Geurin disappeared completely.

“Everything was terrible,” said the daughter, now Amy Kusaywa, 36.

“There must have been a part of her I didn’t know.”

Weekly phone calls to her children stopped abruptly in the winter of 1991, and no one has heard from Mrs. Geurin since. Nor has any paperwork, like a federal tax return or a claim for Social Security benefits, surfaced that would offer proof of a life elsewhere.

Since then, Ms. Kusaywa has been trying to piece together clues about her mother’s life and disappearance. Her journey has taken her across the state, and into uncharted emotional territory. It has turned her into a forgiving daughter and amateur detective.

Navy blue Classiques Entier sweater (size L); red Classiques Entier sweater (size XL), red Classiques Entier sleeveless silk shirt (size Petite L), navy blue Classiques Entier knit wool pants (size L). Black loafers (size 7M), knee high stockings, white support bra, white "Fruite of the Loom" underpants (size 6). Her clothes may have come from an upscale store such as Saks Fifth Avenue. She also had a green knapsack.
  • Jewelry: She wore bifocals with translucent frames, two clip-on earrings, a small gold women's Guess watch with mesh band and a 14 karat gold ring with 4 jade stones, a metal bead chain with medic alert "NO CODE, DNR, No Penicillin."

Case History
This unidentified woman committed suicide on December 18, 1996. She left two 50$ bills one for the coroner and one for the cemetery with the same typed note:
Deceased by own hand...prefer no autopsy. Please order cremation with funds provided. Thank you, Jane Doe
She was located inside Pleasant Valley Memorial Park, a small cemetery in Annandale, Virginia. There was a clear plastic sheet on the ground. Next to the sheet was an 8" Christmas tree, adorned with gold balls and red ribbons.
In addition to drinking brandy (she had a 0.14 blood-alcohol level) and swallowing Valium, the victim had two empty juice bottles and a new roll of masking tape in her knapsack. She had no receipts in her pockets to enable police to trace her movements. She had a portable tape player, the headphones over her ears and had listened to a recording of comedians Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner doing their "2000 year old man" routine. She had placed a plastic bag over her head and tied it off with tape. This made her suffocate.
The site she chose, Pleasant Valley, probably wouldn't be known to a drifter. She lay down near the section of the cemetery where infants are buried, but not near any particular grave, and most of the stones nearby were fairly recent.

The nightmare for Kusaywa's typical and happy family in Cohoes, Albany County, began the summer of 1988. That was when Geurin's husband — the father of Kusaywa and her four brothers — died suddenly.

The reality was, however, that she was devastated without the man she built her life with and with the foundation of her life decimated, Geurin's life began to tumble. She started to drink — something she was never known to do before — and would disappear from her home for days at a time.

With the uncharacteristic behavior came a man — Curtis Pucci — who was much younger, and who, according to Kusaywa, was manipulative and abusive to her mother.

"She said that she knew she had made a mistake and that we were right," she said. "There was no money left and Curtis was terrible to her. The tenor of the conversation was that I could expect to hear from her within the next few days about her plans on coming home."

But that would be the last time Kusaywa ever talked to her mother.

According to Kusaywa, members of the Wayne County Sheriff's Office went to talk to Pucci about Geurin's whereabouts. The distraught daughter found out that he told investigators she had moved to Florida to avoid the charges she faced.

A few years ago, Kusaywa decided to reach out to Pucci by letter in the hope of completing the puzzle.

Pucci responded, sending her a 19th-century folktale, "Feathers in the Wind."

The story is of a man who tarnishes the name of the town's wise man.

After the tale, Pucci directly addresses Kusaywa in all capital letters: "Go pick up your feathers and we both may forgive you but not until."

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office continues to look into a missing person case that dates back 25 years involving a Sodus Point woman.

there is little information about her but most likely the boyfriend killed her, maybe he hit her on the head, attacked her unawares and disposed of the body... hopefully the guy cooperates and says what happened to her..

Details of Disappearance​

Geurin was last seen in Sodus Point, New York on January 28, 1991. She lived with her boyfriend, Curtis Michael Pucci, in the Rondeen Trailer Park on Margaretta Road. has never been heard from again. All her possessions, including her trailer, were left behind and were later sold. She was employed as a cook at a restaurant in 1991.

Geurin was involved in an abusive relationship with Pucci at the time she went missing. The month before her disappearance, Geurin told her family she planned to leave him and move back in with her children, who lived 200 miles away. She was very upset during this conversation and said she was embarrassed and had made a mistake by becoming involved with Pucci. This is the last time she ever spoke to her loved ones.
