Lucie Baroness Van Heeckeren was a member of an old Dutch noble family. Her parents emigrated to the US in the early sixties. They lost the titles upon becoming US citizens. Not quite sure if this is the same person, though the DOB matches. And very curious to know how the DNA match was made through genetic genealogy.

At the very least 3. I wonder if VA is backlogged on rape test kits. His type is the most dangerous and it wouldn’t be a surprise if down the road he is connected to more or even worse, murder. These type of solves can only snowball. Finally, justice for these women. Thank you! Thank you! Glad to hear of his arrest. Time to pay the piper. Job well done to your team.

The problem is more complex than just running sex assault kits. If the kit does not produce a profile that matches to a known identity in CODIS, then the case is unsolved even after CODIS testing.

That is what happened here: evidence from three crimes hit to the same (unknown person) in CODIS.

To catch these predators, we need to do two things:
1. Load DNA profiles from crimes scenes into CODIS.
2. Use FGG to identify the folks that can't be identified with CODIS.
