Fair enough. I thought the way you worded it suggested otherwise. Apologies.I’m not alluding to anything, literally asking how we know that the 2 were older men?

Unlikely, unless he knows someone on the island what would he do for food/drink etcHas anyone considered that he may have deliberately made himself a missing person to take himself out of a situation?
You're absolutely correct, imo. But the British media are always looking for a new angle.I'm still struggling to see why this case has be getting so much traction.
Personally - Occams Razor for me.
"First and foremost, our thoughts are with Jay's family at this time. They must be going through the most distressing ordeal not knowing what has happened to their loved one.
We have specialist officers who are continuing to support Jay's family.
Whilst this case falls outside the jurisdiction of UK policing, we have made an offer of support to the Guardia Civil to see if they need any additional resources. They have confirmed that at this time they are satisfied that they have the resources they need, but that offer remains open and they will contact us should that position change. Once again, our thoughts remain with Jay's family and friends at this distressing time.."
Possibly I was thinking that angle at first until the history of the lad was rumoured to be linked to the Rishton Paper Mill Machete attack and then it opened a new angle for some. You're absolutely correct, imo. But the British media are always looking for a new angle.
So the men were awake. We don't know the two men actually said it, the paper reports the female friend Lucy stated this
"Ms Law tracked down the villa and reportedly spoke to the two men he had been there with, the Times reported.
She said the men told her Mr Slater had gone for a cigarette before returning and said he wanted to go home. He reportedly turned down the men’s offers to drive him home later that morning, saying he would instead walk."

I've read one in his 30s and one in his 40s. Bit strange for men of that age to want to hang around a young man they barely know.First time here
But I’m conflicted about the age of the 2 men that JS went back with. His family and friends keep referring to them as “lads” which to me suggests fairly young? Or is that not general consensus these days? Just a little confused as to whether maybe they just looked older than he did, so the lady quoted may have thought older, but the family/friends that know the situation might know they are younger than that?
Only asking because there’s quite a bit of suspicion because of their ages.
It's an Essex thing with the young and older lads in there 30s and Northern youngsters do too. My friend just said it's more a chav thingI guess it must be the younger ones.
I have 3 sons but they are in their 20’s and early 30’s now but they have never had man bags.
The police have already interviewed the 2 older guys, they were satisfied that neither are a suspect and were allowed to leave the country, Jay left the property voluntarily that morning, he was seen by a local walking alone on foot, they have nothing to do with his disappearanceI don't really understand the police investigation.
Jay is either voluntarily or involuntarily missing. (I believe he has got lost but you cannot rule anything out and have to keep an open mind). At some point the investigation to find him will have been risk assessed as high.
So my point is this, if the risk assessment is high, all options are being left open and there are some questions marks surrounding a teenager accompanying 2 grown men to an apartment miles away then why is that apartment and the nightclub not being treated as a potential crime scene?
I would've thought they would need to prove there was a reason to treat it as a crime scene. But there's no evidence at all that there is a crime.I don't really understand the police investigation.

This is pure speculation on my part, JMO, but could be a possibility for what happened. People under the influence of drink/drugs can "black out" while still walking/talking/functioning. What if JS had this happen to him and became fully aware only in the morning at the Air b'n'b, with two unfamiliar, older men. He could have panicked, not knowing what happened the night before, how he got there and what the two men may or may not have done with or without consent. Even if nothing untoward happened, the perception that something MAY have happened could be enough to make him want to get out of there/as far away as he could as soon as possible. Panic can make people do irrational things.I've read one in his 30s and one in his 40s. Bit strange for men of that age to want to hang around a young man they barely know.
So perhaps he was of use to them.
This guy Jay is 19 right? When it was first reported it was saying he was 14 in many articles.
If the Police genuinely suspected the two men Jay went back with to Masca, why would they be allowed to leave the island?I don't really understand the police investigation.

I honestly don't know in Spain but there are certainly questions that I would want answering before being 100 percent certain of anything. Imagine Jay was to be found with unexplained injuries and any potential forensic evidence from the apartment was lost because 2 sets of families have stayed in it?I would've thought they would need to prove there was a reason to treat it as a crime scene. But there's no evidence at all that there is a crime.
I don't think they can be written off that quickly. The police have already interviewed the 2 older guys, they were satisfied that neither are a suspect and were allowed to leave the country, Jay left the property voluntarily that morning, he was seen by a local walking alone on foot, they have nothing to do with his disappearance
I doubt they have any evidence or grounds to keep them but things can always change and all evidence should be secured at every opportunity for every eventuality. Once forensic evidence is gone it's gone.If the Police genuinely suspected the two men Jay went back with to Masca, why would they be allowed to leave the island?
