I was mistaken, as was GH, not a family member but a trusted family friend and admin of the one Facebook group.

If the "trusted family friend" is the Admin of the approved/official FB group, could you please find a link for us.

I am a member.....and there is nothing useful on that page. Lots of crazy theories and rumors. Tony used to post there occasionally but not anymore. I think Caleb's grandmother did too.But they did not divulge anything new.

For a length of time, Caleb's dad was using a friend by the name of "Tony" who is no longer assisting the family.

As far as the new family friend is concerned, you would think Caleb's family might have an issue with anyone revealing Caleb's failing grades, his use of mushrooms, and having his job in Alaska rescinded. This would seem to be private information (if true) that needs to be shared with the CCPD to consider rather than spreading it around on social media.

I haven't seen it verified as fact, but I may have missed a MSM article or LE or immediate family confirming it as fact.

Those assertions came from a FB discussion page for Caleb’s disappearance that is set to private. From an administrator there. That’s my understanding.

But, Gray Hughes Investigates YouTube videos has been referencing them.

As Sundog says, it has not come from MSM, LE or direct from a family member.

The problem is that Gray Hughs Investigates more or less put them out as facts, because he alleges the source was a Facebook page administrator and a trusted family friend of Caleb’s family (presumably).

But these assertions didn’t come directly from Caleb’s parents nor were they put forth by law enforcement or mainstream media.

I think that’s probably true, because I know those who’d seen them were unable to find them again.

Where is the suggestion that Caleb could've been on mushrooms coming from? Is that just a theory? Seems unlikely to me because he was planning to go to class in a few hours and then go fishing. IIRC he had a test to take in his class. And he was excited about the fishing trip. I can't see him doing something to disrupt his day like that. His Dad said Caleb was very organized and liked to plan things out. It seems out of character from what his Dad has told us about Caleb.

Agreed, the shrooms story seems odd to me too. And why pick late on a Monday night to do shrooms--the weekend just ended and spring break is around the corner--plus you have class and a fishing trip the next day. it doesn't add up...

If Caleb was truly online-only for classes given GH's source (which I'm not sold on because supposedly his roommates were concerned when his car was still there past his usual class start time), he could have very well planned to attend a virtual class the next day, especially if it was just a lecture without discussion. Not all professors require cameras to be on and all microphones are generally muted. The shrooms story with that timing doesn't line up for in-person classes and fishing for me, though college kids don't always make the most rational decisions.

Volunteers with the foundation’s STOPNOW school patrol teams arrived Friday in Corpus Christi, Texas, to aid in the search, the foundation said on Facebook.

Part of that will be determined by the medical examiner, and it seems like we could be waiting a while for that determination. I fully expect that we'll learn it had been there from the beginning (the determination may be more general than that though).

Ha!, missed that. That organization is a complete grift too. I mentioned this earlier, but they came into the Riley Strain case late, and said they'd be searching away from the water, which made absolutely no sense. Here they've not only come in late, but come in when his body has almost certainly been found. It's a ploy for attention, even though they claim they aren't accepting donations for this, their PayPal link is still active on their website.

So, hypothetically, did Caleb perhaps find the manhole cover off of its hole and decide to go inside, only to be trapped by someone coming and putting it back? Did he remove it himself?

Or did someone else know of this place and thought of it earlier as a body disposal spot? This is the idea I keep having (because I still believe he met up with someone he thought he knew or was a neighbor, etc).

Sounds like the rumor mill is running as usual - and I'm guessing, like most of you, that CH's body has been found. Horrifyingly sad in any case.
