Yes, I think that's how they initially knew where she was, iirc, but if the phone is now off (out of charge?) life 360 is off too :-(
That's what I came to say as well. Her battery is probably dead, so they aren't able to track her any longer. This poor family, whatever the circumstances are - their loved one is still missing.

so why did they wait? why didn’t they go get her.
I don't know. No car? No funds for taxi to get to her/follow her trail? Confusion as one family member thought she was home and other family thought she was elsewhere and no-one realized she was 'nowhere' for a while? Not instantly worried as this happened before and once she didn't come back after a day they checked life 360 only then? I don't know and don't want to judge tbh. You and I may very well react very differently to how this family reacted, but I always try and see it as we do not know their why until we've walked a mile in their shoes ;-)

Did she have memory loss prior to the new meds she started? I wish we had a time frame for the text message to her dad. Also it has been suggested that she took back roads to Decatur. Could she intentionally been trying to avoid detection even though her vehicle was later seen on traffic cameras?
Has the family traveled the routes?

OK, I saw FB post of people eating at cracker barrel saying they had searched.

this feels very strange. IMO if i was gonna search Id create a FB event and invite everyone and get it any way I could .

The police are awful quiet as well.

This is MOO, I do know a family member of hers but I haven't been in contact with them about this. My feeling is that LE is using license plate tracers to find her locations. So for those asking why the family isn't searching more, how can they if she's on the move?

then where is she getting money from for gas and food to keep keep moving around.

That’s my question as well. If she’s not using a card which can be tracked. She’s using cash, which under the circumstances, would seem to be an conscious act to avoid being tracked. Which doesn’t really jive with memory issues? Further, how has she avoided LE or gas station clerks for all this time? Where is she sleeping, eating? No one has seen her?

I’m just trying to make sense of what we know about the circumstances and hoping she is safe!

Family members of the Chattanooga woman who went missing two weeks ago are not giving up their search.

July 12th marks two weeks since friends and family have seen or heard from Valerie.

*****
She was on some medicine for Vertigo and an ear infection that went against her system," said Tara Daniels, Smiley's Cousin. "She has a low tolerance for medicine."

*****
"If she's getting gas or doing what ever, she may be able to make these transactions or speak to you," said Smiley's sister, LaChandra Lansden. "But, please know that we need you to say something or call the police."

The family says they have been posting signs and chasing leads throughout the Tennessee Valley to find her.

sounds like some one is helping her in my opinion OR some one is using her car and debit card. the article leads you to believe she’s still getting gas …. hmmmm….. why would some one like her just walk away? they don’t say she has any mental illness, just vertigo.

At first the family reported she had "memory issues" and now they have added that she was on medication for an ear infection that causes vertigo. Those two aren't normally related. My gut feeling is there is some key information that is being withheld as to her medical state (just my opinion). The family is well within their right to keep details private they wish to remain so, but it's frustrating when we're left feeling we're "missing" something that might be helpful in finding her.
