Avon and Somerset Police Four CCTV images taken from the Hotwells area. A red circle in each outlines where Jack can be seen walking past the frame

Police said the investigation has reviewed more than 100 hours of CCTV footage

The last confirmed sighting of Mr O'Sullivan was at 03:13 BST as he walked across a grassy area at the junction of Brunel Lock Way and Brunel Way.
There were two potential sightings later - one on the Plimsol Bridge at about 03:25 BST heading back in the direction of the city centre, and another on the Bennett Way slip road on the northern side of the river at about 03:38 BST.

His family have since launched a huge campaign to try and find out more about his movements that night, with more than 33,000 people joining the "Find Jack" Facebook group.

  • Footage shows last sighting of man who went missing on night out a month ago
  • “Detectives have carried out extensive CCTV trawls, house-to-house enquiries, we have deployed a specialist dive team to search the basin and the wider River Avon – due to Jack’s proximity to the river when he was last seen – and have been looking at his phone and why that was active after his last confirmed sighting.”

'His anguished family, from North Somerset, have been searching for him, retracing his last known steps.''

I don't think that looks like the clothes Jack was wearing in that CCTV. That looks like a Parka and a pair of Wellies. Apologies for the late reply. I haven't been on here in a long time now.

A reconstruction has been made of the route believed to have been taken by Jack. Thought it would be useful to share particularly if you’re not from the area.

This is such an excellent video.

It is not a place I would like to walk at any time of day or in any weather, but particularly not very late at night in the cold and in poor weather (what time did it start to snow that night/early morning?).

The route makes sense in that the most likely explanation for it is that Jack was trying to pick up a taxi and thought that being on a main road would be the best place. But he had a phone with him. Why did he not use that to secure an Uber or call a minicab company?

I am visiting my husband in England. The small town he lives in has posters all over about Jack. I am very happy to see people here putting up posters and being concerned. I had nit heard of the case.

The usual question with 20s male missing in late night.... is there water around his path??

I think he had already tried that and been unsuccessful, hence the starting to walk

There is, but it’s quite well protected from accidental falls- the video of the walk through is on the Facebook page shared earlier

Thank you. I found this thread after seeing the posters, so i need to review the details better.

Unfortunately hadn't heard of this case until tonight. Missing people - especially those who may have been intoxicated or disorientated after a night out or fall etc - near a body of water is never a good combination imo. I hope some renewed interest in the case can spark someone's memory somewhere that may lead the police to some answers or new leads. His family and friends must be out of their minds with worry. A horrendous situation for all involved.

I think the biggest quandary in this case is he was located via phone away from the water, heading towards where his brother lived and the police refused to search any of the houses in the area of the last location that pinged. I could be wrong though, but that was my last understanding of the case

I should add, the searches were refused as they had no legitimate reason to search… at that point.
