Deceased/Not Found Danka Ilić, 1 year old, Bor, Serbia, 26 March 2024 *arrest*

The worm of doubt, but also a glimmer of hope, was brought to the family of the missing girl Danka Ilić by the rumors that she was in Düsseldorf, as happened a few days after her disappearance when a video from Vienna appeared claiming to be Danka. .

The information that Danka is in Germany was spread a week ago by Rade Dragijević, suspected of helping after her murder, for which his son Dejan and Srđan Janković, workers at the Bor waterworks, are suspected.

Rade publicly revealed, writing on Facebook, that he had received a letter from an unknown woman who had seen Danka in Germany. This is not the first time that the Dragijevićs have claimed that the child is alive and that they have been unjustly accused of her disappearance and murder. While Rade was in custody, his wife Svetlana claimed that Danka Ilić's mother, Ivana Ilić, who was pregnant at the time, knew where the girl was, that is, she had entrusted her to someone. After he was released to defend himself and after Svetlana Dragijević's death, the father of the first suspect repeated the same thing and has now gone further and determined the location.

The letter says that Danka was seen in Düsseldorf in a luxurious house surrounded by high walls. This woman who wrote me a letter says that there was a black car parked in front of the house and that she saw everything a few months ago - Rade said.

The Illic family expects the police to react as they did when, a few days after little Danka's disappearance, a video appeared from Vienna, in which it was believed to be of her.

(..)

Milan Ilić, Danka's paternal grandfather, said that Dragijević's announcement had upset the girl's entire family.

- We are all very disappointed. We don't know what to think, we doubt everything we have been told so far, because over time it turns out that there is no evidence. I began to believe, that is, to hope, that Danka is still somewhere and alive. God grant that they had handed her over to someone and not killed her. What made us even more suspicious was the message that appeared on the profile of Radoslav Dragijević, Dejan's father, who wrote that my granddaughter was in Düsseldorf, Germany - said Milan.

DANKA ILIĆ IZMEĐU BEČA I DIZELDORFA! Nada da je devojčica živa još postoji

"WITHOUT DNA TRACES

AND WITH WITHDRAWN CONFESSIONS

The deadline

for filing an indictment for the murder of Danka Ilić expires:

Will the suspect BE RELEASED?

There is exactly one month left for the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Zaječar to file an indictment against the suspects for the murder of Danka Ilić (2),
Dejan D. and Srđan J.

'As the prosecutor's office said earlier,
the indictment will be filed within the legal term,
however,
after the expert reports arrived where no biological traces of the girl were found,
but also after the suspects retracted their confessions,
the question arises as to what will be found in that indictment.

Prosecution has the freedom to decide whether to file an indictment,
but the court has the final say,
with the fact that,
if it presents a bad case before the non-trial panel,
without evidence, the panel can suspend the proceedings due to lack of evidence.

If that decision is confirmed by the second-instance court,
the Appellate Court,
then they can no longer be tried, regardless of whether other evidence is subsequently collected or better evidence is found.

That is why the prosecution must be careful whether to file an indictment or to release the defendants and continue to collect evidence,
because after the release of the defendants from custody,
there is no specific time until which the investigation can last,
with the fact that one should be
careful about the trial within a reasonable time' -
explained lawyer Ristović."

This poor family. Baby Danka you are missed.
- First their baby disappears and they pretty quickly treat the mother like a suspect.
- There was a sighting, eventually disproved.
- Then they are told they have arrested 2 & they have a confession. More arrests.
- LE apologized to the family.
- They can’t find her body.
- 2 ppl connected to this nightmare die.
- There is no proof those who confessed are connected. No DNA in or on the suspect car. No DNA on the tools, no DNA on their clothing or shoes.
- The suspects have withdrawn the confession.
- There is another sighting.

This is heartbreaking.Thank you for keeping us updated Dotta & Megsc.

Yeah honestly so much has been going on since Danka's disappearance, it's hard to follow sometimes!
I really can not form an opinion on weither or not the suspects are actually guilty with everything we know so far..

I somehow think Police have right perps.

Why did one of them confess?
Was it false confession?

And the other?
He was silent the whole time.
If he was innocent,
why didn't he shout his innocence,
but stayed mute?

And suddenly ...
they both claim they are not guilty.
At the same time.

Well,
The lack of DNA is puzzling.

Are they really innocent?

Police checked all cars in this area.
Checked the family.
Lots of people were questioned.

Did LE miss something?

I feel they withdrew their confession due to no DNA or other evidence involving them being found.
They likely thought they would not get away with it, so they confessed, hoping for deals. Yet, when it was found there was no actual evidence, if I were their lawyer, I would say, "Withdraw the confession NOW."
I disagree with that tactic, but I am not a lawyer.

Exactly!
This is what I guess too.

But they shouldn't be too sure of themselves.

There must be some evidence.
And sooner or later Police will find it.

They don't seem to be criminal masterminds.
Perfect crimes do not exist.
So some say.

But, of course,
I might be wrong.

I agree. I confess, I do not know anything about the justice system there, but from what we have seen in articles, it seems they are having to send out and spend a lot of time waiting for forensics. It is not a heavily populated city; it is a village. I do think they are treading water and need more help.

To add to my previous post, the accused worked for a utility company. Gas, oil, electric, water, and construction companies are good at conducting their own legal investigations and, with a little financial gift, could really 'help' a small police department.

Why would a company care about two random guys?

"ADDITIONAL EXPERTISE ON CAMERA RECORDS

FROM BANJSK POLJE, STATEMENTS OF 25 WITNESSES,

COLLECTED EVIDENCE:

The case of Danka Ilić is entering a new phase,

soon everything will be much clearer.

Five months after the disappearance and murder of Danka Ilić (2) in Banjsko Polje near Bor,
with several twists and turns, and then the denial of the suspects for the crime,
the public is waiting to see if the prosecution will file an indictment.

The investigation against Dejan D. and Srđan J.,
has not been completed.

After the hearing of 25 witnesses and the evidence collected so far,
we are waiting for the material to be completed.

The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Zaječar expects to receive additional expert reports of video recordings from certain security cameras.

Some are located in Banjsko Polje itself, and as we learn, one is located near the property of the family of the missing girl.

Then, in combination with all other expert reports, DNA traces and witness statements,
the prosecution will evaluate each piece of evidence by person and their mutual connection.

'It is necessary to determine the correct time only on cameras that are exempted from private houses,
and on which the correct time was not set. For example, on some
cameras it was written that some other year was in progress, not 2024' -
says the source of 'Blica'.

Dejan D. and Srđan J., suspects in the murder of two-year-old Danka Ilić,
have had their detention
extended
until September 26."

Dotta - is this the Police saying everything will be much clearer soon, or the writer of the article?

They are still calling this the ‘disappearance and murder’ so they have either cleared the house in Germany, with high walls around it or they don’t believe it is Danka.

"Expert reports have arrived at the prosecution,

and what can be seen on the security footage has been revealed.

The investigation into the murder of a two-year-old girl, Danka Ilić, is coming to an end soon,
given that the final results of the surveillance cameras in Banjsko polje and Bor have officially arrived.

We find out what can actually be seen on the footage from the surveillance cameras,
which were subsequently sent to Belgrade for expert examination.

'The competent prosecutor's office announced new camera reviews,
and it is about the footage taken from the cameras of the house in Banjsko polje where the girl was last seen, as well as the surveillance cameras of the building in Bor where Danka lived with her parents and brother, as well as the one in front of the door of their at home'
- says the source.

'On the footage in front of the door of the Ilić family home, you can see the moment when Ivana's mother leaves the apartment and enters the building's elevator with her two children,
so that the building's camera can record the part when she puts Ivan, Danka and her brother in the car and together with them heads in the direction Banjsko polje'
- says the source.

when Danka disappeared and was later killed. In addition to her, Danka's father was also questioned.

- The time when Ivana stated that she left the building and headed towards Banjsko polje coincides with the time recorded on the surveillance camera footage from their building.

No one suspicious was around, nor did anyone go with them that day'
- said the interlocutor.

The new results of the examination of the cameras in Banjsko polje showed the movement of other vehicles on the fateful day,
on the road that leads to the abandoned hermitage where Danka was last seen.

As a reminder,
in Banjsko polje, the cameras recorded the official vehicle in which the suspects were in, and the results of the forensic examination of the official car so far have shown that no DNA of the girl was found in it.

'Certain vehicles were spotted on the recordings that were later taken from surveillance cameras in Banjsko polje. However,
further analyzes have established that there are no matches, i.e. those people who were seen in the cars in Banjsko polje have nothing to do with Danka Ilić,
nor with the suspects for her murder,

so we assume that there will not be any additional checks, especially since all of them are witnesses who were linked to a possible connection with little Danka, have already been investigated'."

" 'I THINK SOMEONE ELSE IS INVOLVED IN THE CASE OF DANKA ILIC'

Igor Jurić believes that there were omissions in the investigation:

'Even if those people are convicted,

justice will no longer be served'.

He pointed out that we must never forget that Danka Ilić is still missing.

Igor Jurić
from the Center for Missing and Abused Children
said:

'I personally believe that there is something above that
and that someone else is involved,
whether in the kidnapping or in the murder.

It's just that those two people of that capacity are not capable of doing something like that'.

He notes that
an error was made at the very start,
which was increasingly difficult to correct over time."

Not sure if I understood it quite right. Does he think that the suspects are not the perpetrators and that somebody else is responsible for Danka's fate, or does he think that more people are involved than just the ones we know about ?

Ivan, Danka and her brother are 3 persons, not "two children". Where is the error?
