So nothing about how she obtained the firearm? Why was there an available firearm in a home with a teenager on antidepressant medication? (Or any teenager, really)

If she had gone to a school and shot someone, her parents would be under scrutiny re: the firearm. Why is this not the case here.

Day 1 of the Carly Madison Gregg murder trial began with a somber atmosphere in the Rankin County Courthouse as the prosecution presented evidence to the jury, including a 911 call recording and body cam footage after the March shootings.

The gun was kept loaded in a nightstand cubby beside the Mom's side of the bed.

And, this was after CG was caught at school with a pocketknife and had to spend time at an alternative school for a bit as a result. (from testimony today) According to the stepfather's testimony he told CG that he had a cool pocketknife as a kid and so she ordered one on Amazon. He thought that maybe CG forgot it was in her pocket when she went to school. (Perhaps he felt guilty about getting her in trouble at school so he is justifying her actions?) He also said that he doesn't recall Ashley going to a conference about it at the school. But it was serious enough that CG was punished fairly severely by the school. Was the family simply comfortable with having weapons around the house?

This was weird testimony. The stepfather really downplayed the knife thing and the need for CG to go to an alternate school.
I got lost a bit on the THC vape pens. Did they belong to the Mom or to CG?

911 call played in court on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024.

A 911 call was played Monday at the trial of Carly Gregg, who is accused of killing her mother in March.Gregg, 14, is on trial for allegedly shooting and killing her mother, Ashley Smylie - a teacher at Northwest Rankin High School.

WARNING... Beware of loud gunshots!!!
Those poor dogs.

Video was released leading to the death of Northwest Rankin High School teacher Ashley Smylie. Her 14-year-old daughter, Carly Gregg, is currently on trial for Smylie's death.

Seeing the dogs is upsetting for me.
Interesting how CG hides the gun behind her back to and from the murder of her mother then texts somebody (friend, stepdad) immediately after.
I feel like there is so much more to this than what's on the surface.

Was it stated why the family had a camera in their kitchen?

I don’t like the medication information I’m seeing. It makes me feel it caused her to act out by breaking down her ability to restrain herself. I can’t help feeling that the medication played a role and was a big factor in the commission of the crime. She is after all a child.

Agree on the meds, it had to have had an affect. She was switched meds, mgs/doses changed and at one point stopped taking them. She did not do the necessary pattern of down dosage when stopping the meds.

At some point in her life she was cutting, I didn’t hear if it was actively happening.

The whole thing is so, so disturbing. Most particularly Carly's calmness.
The dogs didn't know what to make of it. :(
That alone would have been horrible for them, but I assume that wasn't all they had to witness! I assume they saw everything that happened after this too. Carly allegedly shooting her stepfather, her stepfather discovering his wife's body, his agonized wails to the 911 call... must have been so loud, confusing, and traumatic.
