So nothing about how she obtained the firearm? Why was there an available firearm in a home with a teenager on antidepressant medication? (Or any teenager, really)

If she had gone to a school and shot someone, her parents would be under scrutiny re: the firearm. Why is this not the case here.

Day 1 of the Carly Madison Gregg murder trial began with a somber atmosphere in the Rankin County Courthouse as the prosecution presented evidence to the jury, including a 911 call recording and body cam footage after the March shootings.

The gun was kept loaded in a nightstand cubby beside the Mom's side of the bed.

And, this was after CG was caught at school with a pocketknife and had to spend time at an alternative school for a bit as a result. (from testimony today) According to the stepfather's testimony he told CG that he had a cool pocketknife as a kid and so she ordered one on Amazon. He thought that maybe CG forgot it was in her pocket when she went to school. (Perhaps he felt guilty about getting her in trouble at school so he is justifying her actions?) He also said that he doesn't recall Ashley going to a conference about it at the school. But it was serious enough that CG was punished fairly severely by the school. Was the family simply comfortable with having weapons around the house?

This was weird testimony. The stepfather really downplayed the knife thing and the need for CG to go to an alternate school.
I got lost a bit on the THC vape pens. Did they belong to the Mom or to CG?
