GUILTY UK - Tia Sharp, 12, New Addington, London, 3 Aug 2012 #2

Well the new arrests mean we now don't know *what* the truth is about when Tia was last seen, by whom, and where. She could have been alive as late as Friday evening, or murdered before the gran even went to work on Thursday. In fact any time between being caught on CCTV outside the coop, and...

The case now does not have such an obvious conclusion as was first apparent when the police decided to arrest Hazell. We could even end up with the grandmother being charged with the murder and the other two simply charged with helping to conceal the body - or variations on that.

Talk about name coincidence - first we had Paul Meehan (Craig Meehan was Karen Matthews' partner) now we have "Maxine Carter, Tia's aunt" - so similar a name to Maxine Carr, Ian Huntley's partner!

We also have to remember the Fred and Rosemary West case, which although I don't think anyone found out exactly what happened there, it is believed they colluded in the abuse and murders.

Well of course if the grandmother was there at the time of the death, then yes it is possible the kid was still alive to go out on Friday. But the story about her saying she was going into Croydon may have been false, she may have simply been walking up the road to see if any of her friends...

That surname seems awfully familiar! Wasn't there one with that name in the Shannon Matthews case? Yes it was Karen Matthews boyfriend, Craig Meehan!

lalalemon, there are a total of 3 people under arrest, as I understand it. The 39yr old is the 3rd person, and has been arrested for "helping an offender"

I just read from @TimesCrime (I think that is someone from a fairly reputable newspaper here) that "Two more arrests in Tia Sharp case - woman aged 46 and man aged 39. Believed to be her grandmother and a neighbour." Hope it was ok to quote that here. I feel so sorry for Tia's mother. Her...

Yeah who in this story was mentioned as being 39. It won't be the mother, I think she's a lot younger. Could it be the neighbor who provided the alibi about seeing Tia on Friday?

There may have been a ladder in the house at the time of the death. If I was crafty, and remember this man has a history of law breaking, I would hide the body immediately after the death, then get rid of the ladder before it came to light that the child was missing. You're not going to arouse...

That sighting by a neighbor on Friday was always described as "unverified". The couple may have had a friend who was loyal enough to invent a corroboration - probably never dreaming that they were lying about when she went out, just thinking it would make things easier for the "innocent" (as...

Several people have raised the point that the body may have been moved between loft spaces, which is perfectly possible in one type of continuous loft design. However, if this was the case it still leaves two questions: 1) The police should have noticed the loft was continuous, and worked out...

Even here in the UK, I think sub judice only begins when someone is formally charged. But of course we still have libel laws to consider.

One possible scenario for the death could be that if Hazell was still involved with drugs, that the little girl might have found some in the house and experimented, and died from that. I guess if she was already dead when he found out, there was no point getting help and he thought he might as...
