The only burglary in which he was known to have the rifle is the one at Malibu Valley Farms (an equestrian center) on 6 October. LASD has said he did not have the rifle at the community center incident.
From the latest NBC LA 'exclusive':
Preliminary ballistics analysis showed more than one type of gun was used in the shootings, the sources said, so it was not immediately clear how many - if any - incidents might be linked to the gun seen in the security video.
Except that you really didn't...
CBS LA is reporting that a male body was found on the side of the road near Saddle Peak and Piuma.
Man's body found on side of the road in Malibu (video)
If Rauda was in custody 'about four months ago', that would mean he was in custody in June. The Tesla was shot at on 18 June. TB was killed on 22 June.
I wonder when he was in custody.
<modsnipped LE bashing which is against TOS>
Well then I guess I'm one of those few and know those few. The group of lions in this large area is IIRC about a dozen, mostly female and rather inbred due to the constraints of the freeways. Your chances of encountering one aren't very good. I...

This is not a very accurate perception of the Santa Monica Mountains. Mountain lions are few and far between; attacks are exceedingly rare. I never saw one in the 20 years I lived at the base of the mountains. I did see deer...
It's a rather unusual step that they're blurring out his face. So much for people coming forward with more important evidence.
Also, the Tapia Park alert over the weekend involved a report of a man with 'scraggly' hair. This dude doesn't appear to fit that description. His hair - what we can...

Investigators Not Ready to Link String of Calabasas-Area Burglaries to Shootings Near Malibu Creek State Park
More in the second report on the office break-in:

The community center is just over 3 miles away from the park and just off the 101 Freeway.
As I mentioned previously, the building is next to the LASD Lost Hills Station. You'd think there'd be enough CCTV coverage in the area, especially after the Mitrice Richardson scandal.
From the list, it...
LASD has posted a notice about the recent burglaries.
#LASD Major Crime Bureau Investigators Give Update on Recent Burglaries in the Unincorporated Calabasas/Malibu areas
The relevant break-ins are listed. Four are from the last three weeks; one was in July; one is from 2017; two are from...
The Malibu Times is reporting that they're working on a story about new safety measures being implemented at Malibu Creek State Park. No details yet but it's encouraging to hear this.
Also wanted to add to my previous post about homicide stats that I'm not sure how the body found in Calabasas...
If you go to the crime statistics section of the LASD website, you'll see that there are 6 homicides for the year 2018. Alongside that, you can see the statistics for the same period last year, when the total number of criminal homicides in the LASD Lost Hills station area was zero.
Out of...
Good point.
And to use a real-life example in the same area: Elaine Park's car was left parked on PCH across from the 76 station at Corral Canyon and was not discovered until five days after she was reported missing.
This is a little OT but there was a body found in Malibu yesterday. This was on PCH at Kanan (Point Dume area) behind the restaurant Gravina.
Body of Woman Found in Malibu Friday Morning
According to LASD, there's 'no indication of foul play or any crime'.
According to other sources, the...
'Likely'? That goes a little too far for me, well beyond the bounds of the evidence.
LASD have - suddenly - wanted to put 'survivalist' in the mind of the public with regard to these shootings. We haven't yet seen anything in the evidence that bears that out.
The man who broke in to the office...
So if someone was living in the park, he'd have to travel farther afield now that the campground has been closed since June. Which cuts against the idea that such a person would have taken actions that resulted in the closure of the campground as the campsites would have been a very steady food...
Also, it's possible that 'long range' has its origins in the fact that TB was inside the tent sleeping and the shot came from outside.
I looked briefly at KCAL9's website and there was no contact info for Dave Lopez but when I have more time today maybe I'll email the station for clarification.
