Even though the good Doctor Hapless has a tenuous relationship with reality, I am inclined to believe his version of the phone call(s) over Mari, hands down. And yes, I agree with you on Diaz giving him the phone number. I also believe that Diaz urged him to call Mari, which he no doubt regrets...
Dr. Hapless has said that he initially spoke to someone that refused to identify themself, and that he then he had a call with Sherre where he discussed rehab. My guess is these two calls got put into a blender and mashed up beyond comprehension. Truth lies somewhere in between.
The police say they arrived at 5:40am.
What if Gus ran out of his house to wait for the cops at the front gate without his watch? I wouldn't take the arrival time at 6am as gospel. Nothing is as unreliable as eyewitness testimony. I do take sunrise at 5:52am (and low tide at 5:40am) as etched...
Diaz said he urged Dr. Hapless to call Mari. My guess is after things went pear shaped he panicked and denied the calls.
All of Hackett's "stories" seem to have a common thread: they make him seem heroic. He likes to "help". Whether this is actually helpful is another matter of course.
I think this hypothesis is a far more reasonable one than some of the things I've read here.
However, since it appears Dr. Hapless is only casually dating reality, why not simplify matters to "the john gave Shannan something that induced drug induced psychosis"? Why even include PH in the...
Dormer has been adamant that the police arrived earlier. I have a hard time imagining a reason for him to lie about it, and I can easily see why conspiracy theorists would want to push it back.
(And yes I know about Gus Coletti's estimate about the arrival time. Eyewitness testimony can be...
I think the problem lies with the word "especially" here. Burke couldn't very well say to the FBI "Stay away from everything except LISK". If he is going to keep them at bay, he's keeping them at bay.
Nothing should be dismissed, but it should be recognized as highly improbable as opposed to the dominant or ascendant theory. And trying to tie Dr. Hapless into some Burke theory makes me cringe.
The most pro LE person on earth would be me lol. As far as unknown cop SKs or cops shielding SKs...
The distortions spread by "insiders" has been the Achilles' Heel of online discussions.
The fascinating thing to me is watching their narrative shift from Dr. Hapless to efforts morphing police corruption into some ring of serial killers.
It's another dead end. Smacks of desperation on...
The issue here is not whether the SCPD is corrupt. I think even the most pro-LE types like myself can agree from Spota down, Suffolk needs to be disinfected. (I do believe Sini is doing the right thing.)
The problem I have is some folks making the leap that while Burke interfered with the LISK...
LISK ticks off almost every box in the organized list of characteristics.
One of the things that struck me years ago was the use of alcohol by organized SKs. You'd think it would be the other way around.
But more to the point it was said LISK sounded like he might have had a few when he made...
Just addressing the Police Surgeon title....

Given that Dr. Hackett resides in his own private reality I have no trouble believing that something like this is the source of the confusion.
I'm not saying you are wrong - far from it. But the selective "leak" of depositions itself is an issue. Why do I say that? What if only the depositions that favor the Hackett theory have been shown only to people that are inclined to believe it? I am not saying I know that to be the case, simply...
She's repeated that quite recently, as in last night.
I guess it just got caught up with a lot of the urban legends of this case. I don't think it rules out the Manorville killings etc from possibly being the work of LISK. He may well have "evolved" from the 1990s. Gotten married, gotten a...
