CA - 13 victims, ages 2 to 29, shackled in home by parents, Perris, 15 Jan 2018 #1

So do we have any more info from LE on how long the kids were restrained/chained for? Why they were restrained? What the kids said about what went on in the home? What info the 17 year old gave on the 911 call?

No, this is highly unlikely. Legal insanity is different from psychiatric diagnoses. All the prosecutor has to do is show they knew right from wrong, which is why insanity is rarely used as a criminal defense. A DSM-IV diagnosis likely won't matter legally.

I find it odd that the family even had social media accounts, or took vacations to Disneyland, given how otherwise isolated they were. If they wanted to keep the kids restrained forever, why post pics of them on the internet? Why let the older children learn to drive (which they must have if...

I'd be embarrassed, if I was him, to admit I saw that kind of thing going on and didn't bother to report it to anyone. What's wrong with him. In what world is kids marching in the middle of the night NOT abuse? Those kids must've looked like Children of the Corn. But then again, let's say...

I used to work as a bankruptcy paralegal and....their case is nothing unusual in terms of what an attorney would see. They're not gonna bring the kids to the attorney's office. It was likely just two meetings - the initial case evaluation and the court hearing. Then you never see them again...

Absolutely! Identical twin girls also dressed identically freak me out for this reason.

I know, right? The fashion alone is all over the map. Mom's wedding dress: modern day, but for a much younger woman in a non-conservative household. Dad and boys: 1960s Beatniks. Girls: 1970s twins from the Shining, but some get stripper heels (??) and some are wearing Mary Janes!

What is SO WEIRD though is that they are dressed like 5 year olds....but some of them are wearing 3 inch heels!!! They're being infantilized but sexualized at the same time, in a religiously conservative household. (while Mom gets married in a strapless dress!) And why are some of the girls...

What struck me immediately about the wedding photos is how incongruous mom's appearance and clothing is from the rest of the scene. The female children are all dressed like the little girls from the Shining, the male children (and dad) are dressed like the Beatles circa 1964....and the mom is...

Forever children. Oh god. Haven't there been child abuse cases where the parents wanted to keep the kids children forever? It sounds so familiar. From how the father's parents talk about him and their family. it sounds like the apple doesn't fall far. "A respectable family"? Dressed alike...

I have never met a mentally healthy adult man with a bowl cut like that.

UID Victim: The Asian Male, UP9355, John Doe #8, poss. died 1996-2001, found Gilgo Beach Apr 2011

I would also like to add that, needless to say, given the intersection of factors - a young man presenting as female and prostituting himself pre-social media in the late 90s/early 2000s NY - I don't think you are going to find the Asian male was ever reported missing.

UID Victim: The Asian Male, UP9355, John Doe #8, poss. died 1996-2001, found Gilgo Beach Apr 2011

I'm thinking this young man, possibly pre-op transgendered female, might not have been reported missing, if his parents kicked him out of the house for being gay or trans. He could have been homeless and prostituting for awhile before he was murdered. LE needs to look at service providers or...

    Unclassified Victims **MERGED**

Sorry if this is repetitive or a rehash of what has already been posted. I didn't go through every post. I am looking at missing women in the tri-state specifically linked to drugs, prostitution, or strip clubs, as they would be more likely to fit the LISK's victim profile. I am thinking...

Forgotten Reports about Long Island Human Remains Found

Do we know which of these remains were eventually identified though? Perhaps it might be better to try to match these reports to what has been submitted to NAMUS/Doe Network.

    HODGE-PODGE - LISK-related

I'm not sure where else to put this question, and it's been awhile since I've posted on LISK. (a few years I think). This may be pretty obvious, but have missing women in the tri-state area outside of NY been considered as matches for the UIDs? CT, NJ, even PA? Just wondering...I'd like to do...

Welcome to The Murder Accountability Project!

why is this a big deal? you can already access UCR and Supplementary Homicide Reports. UCR is not voluntary. Developing out NIBRS data is going to the future of homicide studies, by making it mandatory for police departments and the standard level of information that needs to be reported...

I can't imagine the amount of rage he had to hold back too, to keep from wanting to throttle her throat and scream "WHAT KIND OF DEMON RAISES CHILDREN LIKE THIS!!!"

I know. You at least hope that if your loved one had to be murdered, they did not suffer for long, and that there are remains to bury... She suffered, a lot, and there are no remains. I can't imagine going on with life after that without thinking about it every minute of every day. I...
