The John Doe was originally thought to have been female when discovered in 1988 due to a certain type of pitting found on the pelvis (thought to indicate that a woman had given birth - but no longer the case as the pitting has been found on females who haven not given birth as well as males)...

The Jane Doe reconstruction looks very similar to a reconstruction of a John Doe on the artist's website (see images below). Makes you wish we had a reconstruction by another artist so we could know how much of the recon reflects the artist and how much truly reflects the decedent.
Attached is an image of an article relating to the Jane Doe. Not much more is gleaned from the article, except that she police believe she was intentionally trying to disguise her identity and that her body was found on a trail behind Petro's Truck Stop off I-20 in Weatherford.
I found the...
I wish we heard back about the initial woman from Arkansas that Carl suggested. The resemblance is very strong. I have looked several hours today for similar looking missing people...she by far has the closest resemblance to this Jane Doe. It seems usually when there is a match with photos of...
I did a brief search and it seems no new updates have been made public since the discovery.
A few articles mention that they were likely from a girl who's 2-1/2 to 4 years old, including the one I have posted below...
I don't think that much stock should be put into the ID info. It could well have been a fake ID, from a different state than the girl was from. Does anyone know where she got the name "Ginger"? Her hair was described as light brown, so I assuming it is due to something else?
I too was thinking that she perhaps identified as male due to the clothing. I wonder if she ran away from an unsupportive home environment, and later came to New York. There is a large homeless LGBT youth population there.
I wonder what led authorities to initially believe the remains were male?
Reminds me of the case of Thomas Billy Lee Tillery whose skull was thought to be female, hence he remained Unidentified for many years, even though the remains were found only a few miles from where Tillery went...

To me they appear to be hallmarks 14k and them some letters, perhaps the makers, perhaps not. The "Y" looks more like a "U" to me...but I can definitely see the "M". In another solved Doe case I remember the initials on the wedding band belonged to the partner, not the deceased, so that could...
Carl mentioned earlier that the necklace was traced to a local craftsman. I wonder if he recognized the young man (if he sold it directly to him) or perhaps had a record of clients that he sold that particular model to. If they traced the goat pendants I'm sure they could find someone who is...
Thanks for sharing images....I guess it was a popular style! I had never seen it before (and I grew up in Minneapolis in the 90's!). Since she had a very masculine hairstyle and "chin hairs" I wonder if she perhaps could have been a cross-dresser or perhaps just a more "butch" woman.
I wonder if her haircut was done post-mortem to change her look? It seems like such an odd style...short and spiked with a small pig-tail in the back...I don't think I have ever seen someone sport that style. The dismemberment shows that efforts were made to conceal her identity, so perhaps the...
