Ada, it is nice to see you back on the forum. I am sorry to hear about your health problems, I hope you are doing better now. I was able to uncover more information regarding the circumstances of Mims identification.
On the Doe Network's located page it gives this information about Mims...

I feel the same way, I looked at her profile many times, thinking that she would be "forever lost". I am glad there is some closure for her loved ones.
There seems to be a resemblance to me, especially in the mouth and nose, as well as the chin and face shape (although the morgue photo seems to be more rounded, possibly swollen?). I wish there was more info to go off like Beverley's height and weight.
I was checking Charley Project's resolved page and saw this :
Mims, 19, disappeared from Phoenix, Arizona on December 23, 1980. Her partial remains were located in 1987, but they were not identified until February 2010. Further details are unavailable.
Strange that the remains were also...
The thing that I do not get about Rocky's response is, if this Jane Doe had stolen the purse some 10 years ago in San Diego, why do the police believe she was a hitchhiker/new to the area in Southern California. That doesn't make sense to me.

Wow yeah great job! I cant believe it took them over two years to identify the body when the answer was here all along! Jaded, did LE ever respond to your emails?
Ada,
Thanks for the clarification. I was thinking that men's underwear is cheaper than women's and that was the possible reason she was wearing them; but I was unaware that women wore their lover's underwear. I could also see the comfort point of view, alot of women's underwear seems...
Yes, that is disappointing. I think it is important to add the well known/detailed cases, many of the ones they have on there have very little imformation. Does anyone else think it's strange that the JD was wearing men's underwear? Do you think this case should be updated to the "Submitted" status?
The Jane Doe really looks like Mims to me. I have always been intrigued with this case, since the JD was found not to far from where I live. The only discrepencies that bother me are the time Mims was missing, and that they don't mention cut scars on the wrists of the JD. I would submit this as...
