I understand that Beverly was not as shy relating to a female and would probably have allowed one to easier approach her.

Having become interested in this case in 2005 and visiting Halloran Park and Linnet Avenue, I came to the conclusion that the person responsible lived on that street and was a female. I still feel that way.

Based on the report that home movies obtained by authorities show what appear to be the three women aboard a boat, it seems that is how they were taken from the beach area. The questions then arise: under what pretense did they board the boat? who invited them? and were any of the people known...

IN IN - Renee Bruhl, Patricia Blough & Ann Miller, Indiana Dunes SP, 2 July 1966

In investigating this, authorities reportedly interviewed many of the people who were there on that day - which included obtaining home movies taken by one of them. I don't recall any reports from someone who said they were asked to watch the women's belongings. I tend to think if that if...

Don't see a lady leaving her purse and/or personal belongings behind - not in 1966 or 2016.
  6. Cincinnati Kid

OH OH - John Hundley & James McQueary, both 9, Fairfax, 15 Oct 1964

I tend to think the name and any other information on the youth who was said to be the accomplice would be contained in police files on this case. As previously noted, when McKee was brought back to this area in 1967, the other person was said to then be 14 years old and had moved to...

I'm very much in agreement with the last post. You hear now of various law enforcement offices working on "cold cases". This is certainly one. With regards to the "second guy" who may have been involved along with Gary McKee, I have never seen that name in print - either in the newspaper, in...

OH OH - John Hundley & James McQueary, both 9, Fairfax, 15 Oct 1964

I don't think Gary McKee was ever legally exonerated such as if he would have been acquitted following a trial. I think it is more like Fairfax authorities felt they just did not have enough evidence to charge him in the deaths of Jimmy and Johnny.

You do wonder if Gerald Schaefer had any previous contact with one or both of these victims? Could he have known or had contact with one or both of their boy friends? I don't think the term "stalking" was used in connection with these kind of matters in the 1960's, but that could have been...

I find it interesting that Gary Lee McKee's residence at the time of the disappearance at 3758 Meadowlark Lane is very close to Frisch's Mainliner where some reports indicate this was the last place the two boys were seen.

OH OH - John Hundley & James McQueary, both 9, Fairfax, 15 Oct 1964

The property at 3758 Meadowlark Lane has not been in the McKee family name since late 1990. If Gary is still living in the local area, it would be at a location other than that one.

I am surprised that McKee has remained in the area. It's obvious from just reading the posts here how the feelings continue after all of the years and that is certainly understandable. I assume he has turned down requests for interviews or even comments when members of the media write or report...

OH OH - John Hundley & James McQueary, both 9, Fairfax, 15 Oct 1964

There is some mix-up here. When Gary McKee was brought back to Fairfax from San Diego in 1967, he mentioned the involvement of the other youth in the deaths of Johnny and Jimmy in 1964. It was reported then that this youth had later moved to Indianapolis. He did not come back with McKee. I...

OH OH - John Hundley & James McQueary, both 9, Fairfax, 15 Oct 1964

I prefer not to question anyone who went through such a serious and tragic matter; however and in all respect, may I provide some information with regards to the correct last-name of the person who confessed to the murder and then changed his story? In reporting on this story in the...
  15. Cincinnati Kid

OH OH - John Hundley & James McQueary, both 9, Fairfax, 15 Oct 1964

You wonder what would make a person admit to murdering someone if he really didn't do it? Based on him being 17 years old in 1967, would not Gary Lee McKee have had to have parental or guardian approval to join the military? It should be reminded that this was in the years when the United...

OH OH - John Hundley & James McQueary, both 9, Fairfax, 15 Oct 1964

If the crime did indeed take place in or around the school yard, you would think there may be someone who witnessed it, or at least the beginnings of it before it may have moved elsewhere - a wooded area, etc. You begin to wonder what would have caused both of the boys not to just be just...
  17. Cincinnati Kid

OH OH - John Hundley & James McQueary, both 9, Fairfax, 15 Oct 1964

Just wondering if Johnny had ever mentioned being bullied by this older youth who later joined the Marines or the other boy who reportedly may have been involved? Was there any suspicion by your family in the days immediately after Johnny and Jimmy disappeared as to who may have been involved?
  18. Cincinnati Kid

OH OH - John Hundley & James McQueary, both 9, Fairfax, 15 Oct 1964

Thanks for providing this information. Just wonder if the boys may have started walking eastbound from Frisch's using Wooster Pike which, even then, had a number of businesses along that stretch? I assume the time given on the report (8:30 P.M. - EST) was when Fairfax Police were contacted. I...
  19. Cincinnati Kid

OH OH - John Hundley & James McQueary, both 9, Fairfax, 15 Oct 1964

I remember when this happened in 1964 and then resurfaced in 1967 when the marine initially alleged he had killed the boys and then said he had made up the story. I have previously offered some comments on this case on these pages. I appreciate John Hundley's sister posting here and providing...

If the letters noted here are those mailed to the Plain Dealer in 2000 and 2001, details of their contents and a copy of one of them appear in a chapter titled "Robert Wolf's Quest" on pages 157-170 in the book Twilight of Innocence.
