Steep, absolutely yes. But she would have had to have left the trail as the trail is the lowest point. She couldn't have fallen FROM the trail. This is plausible if she saw a challenging rock scramble on either side of the trail. This would have been an even poorer choice to do alone than hiking...
I see what you did there.
I don't think she went there to die. If it was an accident it was surely due to some serious risks that she took. I haven't discounted the possibility of murder, more likely by someone she met on the trail, but less likely by someone she knew.
Long distances UPHILL. There are steep banks on either side of most of the trail, including a mile in. This was only an accidental fall if she went off the trail to a higher elevation and fell from there, which is possible. Animals could have dragged her to that spot too.
THAT, is interesting. Why Fairfax? There are many agencies between SNP and NOVA better equipped and knowledgeable about this particular area. The only thing Fairfax could possibly contribute that they can't is familiarity with Nicole. I don't see how that would be useful.
WJLA did not report any speculation by neighbors. I think neighbors would know first hand if she had moved out. I may not be able to give an exact date, but I know when my neighbors move.
This criticism of LE gets brought up in nearly ever case I have followed. Yes, it's frustrating for us to be asked for help and then get little information in return, but that's the way it is. We aren't entitled to know what they know even if we have an important tip. That's not how it works...
I was just in East Rock and have to be there again first thing in the morning. The smoke is thick and spreading. It was actually a little hard to breathe. The sun looked like it does at sunset even though it was high in the sky. I was actually suprised at how close the fire is to the MillerCoors...
The plea for legal assistance regarding the phone sounds to me like VSP is stonewalling the family and they aren't accepting it. Does it come across that way to anyone else?
I doubt there was any significant disruption of the conversation. That would have set off alarms to her Dad and she would have been reported missing well before Friday.
My downloads don't appear on my bill. Can we assume that the family (or VSP) has posession of the phone? The content of the those downloads is likely stored on the phone, the originating source, and/or the cloud, not on service providers' servers. Do records from her service provider show they...
True, and whether it had anything to do with her disappearance or not, I think the Fairfax County Fire Chief will take a close look at it and will clean house, as he should.
