I doubt this guy was in any DNA database, so it seems the late development with the car is what turned it around. If this guy had been a suspect early on, the police would not have gone public about the car?
Yeah I'm not buying it. They've had over a month and massive resources available. The DNA is surely processed by now, and it's either inconclusive or there is no match. The police may have some theories, but the trail has gone cold and they are hoping for a miracle.
This investigation is taking far too long. Either the police have their man and just waiting for the lab results/cell data etc and making sure their case is airtight or they are clueless and the killer is never going to be caught.
