As far as the timestamp thing, I don't know if this is anything at all, but on my iPhone (I have the 6S Plus) I have to pull my screen to the left to see the time stamp that's hidden to the side. Otherwise you just see the messages. Maybe she just didn't drag the screen? I don't know. Sent...
