I'm not making excuses for anyone ReadySet, I (same as you) want the solution and closure to this case regardless of who is guilty and who isn't.. The principle of baselines is professionally accepted in both polygraph analysis and in statement analysis. That is the reason for control questions...

Abduction is a conclusion which has been reached, understandably, by saying: all other possibilities have been ruled out by complete search of the property and all associated geographical areas/features, therefore, by elimination, it can only be abduction. There is actually (as far has been...

I'd like to point out the importance of establishing a baseline. This is a prerequistie of both polygraphs and of "statement analysis". The essential is to determine (by control questions) the baseline, the way the person normally speaks when under no pressure too lie. In the case of V it's...

I have a question: How many seconds (or minutes and seconds) was it from the moment the mother last heard WT shouting "raarr", until the moment the mother looked around the corner of the house and saw he was not visible where the "raar" had came from?

A provisional attempt of a map of Fri trip, made by combining the few account snippets that have been released, so it may be incorrect and/or incomplete, and corrections are welcome. 1 shop (got directions), 2 pump (out of action), 3 motel (got directions), 4 pump, 5 route to/from campground.

Thanks Apparition for that good explanation of how muting works. Yes, during the 911 recording, the voices of some of the other people in the dispatch room can be heard. I assume this is happening by the simple process of their voices passing through the air in the dispatch room and entering the...

Attention to small but important details, such as checking the accuracy of the time of a communication, and checking all the possible ways background audio can get into a a recording, can only help, and cannot possibly hinder, a successful investigation. The man who pumped the diesel "thought...

If a text is being flagged as suspicious, MOO it's important to be accurate about when it was sent, specifically whether it was before the call, or during the call.

Thanks ZooSleuth. I'm keeping an open mind on whether the text was sent before making the 911 call, or during the 911 call. I consider the audio timestamp 14:28:04 on the released 911 call recording to be accurate, because I assume the modern state of the art equipment at Salmon 911 Center...

Thanks skinnycat, so the option "reply with message" to a waiting call is available on some Android phones, as well as on some Apple phones. Has anyone here ever responded to a "call waiting" by choosing the "reply with message" option and then the "custom" option (to write your own brief text...

Have any iPhone6 users here ever used this "reply with message" button which enables you, in the middle of a call, to respond to a waiting call by sending a text message ?

I've read that on iPhone6 when there is a "call waiting" one of the options it offers is "reply with message" (don't pick up the second call but reply with a text message instead)? Also I'm interested in what its default "call waiting" tones sound like? (to compare with some tones in the...

Thanks Jessie so it's not just me has a cellphone with a non-sync'ing clock. An interesting question .. is it possible for a cellphone clock to be two minutes slow even when it is synced from the network?

Just to explain where I was coming from, my cellphone never syncs the time. Yes "auto time" is turned on in the settings. I set it 10 minutes fast to test it. Hours later it is still 10 minutes fast. But I'm not in USA.

Thanks. Salmon dispatch had 275K of new equipment early 2014, so I'm guessing the recording equipment clock is probably synced off a time server, but could be wrong. And if a cellphone is synced off a time server, it should still be very accurate even after a few hours without service. So I'm...

Just trying to solve the times of the calls and texts. I knew the majority of cellphones synch time of the network but didn't realise that 100% of cellphones do so thankyou Apparition for correcting me.

Thankyou for that very useful information SubtleGrace. To explain the text from J to T containing simply "911" I think turtletur has offered a good idea The call from J to 911 is officially time-stamped at 2:28:04, this time is according to the clock of the 911 recording system at Salmon...

Yes your opinion appears to be confirmed by the automated "14:28:04" timestamp on the recording of the mother's 911 call. http://www.eastidahonews.com/2015/07/mothers-911-phone-call-released-my-2-year-old-son-we-cant-find-him/

MOO V's call began after J's call began, but V's call probably ended before J's call ended?
