I do hope the jury members speak to the press and give the family some insight into how they came to believe he was not guilty. The only thing I can think of is the defense attorney's statement that "if you don't know EXACTLY what happened that night then you must find him not guilty"...

I can't imagine. I am so very sorry. I am choked. So sorry! Here I was thinking the evg. deliberations were a good sign. Your gut was telling you something different.

It certainly does sound encouraging. If they still had a long way to go they'd likely just sleep on it and come back tomorrow to continue. To stay late SOUNDS like they want to finish up. Set Your Soul Free, hang on. Your answer may come soon. :) Let's hope Melinda is watching.

Did not know she had a twang :) She's very pretty. And from what I've read here, a very nice person, in a bad bad situation. You can talk about her as much as you want/need to Set Her Soul Free, this is a place where you can do that. If she can look down upon you, I know she would be proud...

I think they "CAN" do overtime, but they don't have to. It's good that they are going over details and taking a bit more time than the family (and us on websleuths) would want. But this way their verdict has been debated and not just a quick vote. How about we raise a virtual glass and make...

What kinds of dogs were they? Awful that Evil had a home available, but was not given that opportunity. I'm biding my time here hoping for a verdict soon.

It's all just so very very sad. I'm sure somebody in her family would have wanted to care for her dogs. They would be a reminder of her. Don't know if I'm allowed to swear on this board but I have some nifty words to describe SL floating around in my head. May the verdict come swift, and...

Well, there is one piece of good news in a sea of bad news, one dog's life was spared. Thanks for clarifying that. One more thought, you state the dog was Steve's, but since it did stay at the ex-family home prior to divorce the son had some attachment to it I would imagine. The other...

I was hoping that too, that the kids could visit one another while growing up. They could be a source of strength to one another down the years. I don't know if you are allowed to tell us Set Her Soul Free, but I'm hoping the baby is not with Steve's family as that could get confusing to her...

he is getting an orange jumpsuit and plastic slippers/white socks for his birthday gift. I hope they wrap it nicely and include a card. Birthday dinner, gruel.

Rogers reminded jurors if they have reasonable doubt, the cannot find his client guilty. "If you can't go back in that room and say exactly how this happened, that's reasonable doubt," he said. This was from today's NWItimes. That is not true, and I hope the prosecution or the judge clarified...

GUILTY IN - Melinda Lindsey, 23, shot to death, Porter County, 16 Jan 2015 - #2

Set Her Soul Free, just for clarity. I understand that there were 3 dogs living with Melinda and Steve. One of those dogs previously had resided with his ex-wife and son. I read that only TWO dogs were euthanized. I had hoped that the one dog that was spared was returned to his ex wife and...

You see, that's why I'd love to read the transcripts. Statements like this are priceless. Does anybody know how SL responded to this excellent question? "Because we were moving" makes NO sense, as the threat (as he was pretending) was very current. Not smart to wait till after the move to...

GUILTY IN - Melinda Lindsey, 23, shot to death, Porter County, 16 Jan 2015 - #2

I thought the same thing. It's almost like SL said to himself, before going on the stand, "I've got to think up something that is plausible...which doesn't mean it has to be true". So, he told his "plausible" story on the stand. Plausible, not necessarily true...he's not lying if you look at...

Are trial transcripts available online after the trial is over? I'd love to read the questions and answers, especially the SL portion. The family/friends must be on tenderhooks awaiting the verdict. I feel confident it will go the way they want it to go.
