Wow just finding out about this case after speaking to the arresting detective about another Washoe County case. He said it has been an insane amount of work! I'll bet that's an understatement.

Thanks for posting this. Now LE has to get a judge involved to conduct this kind of research, which gives...

FL FL - Jennifer Medernach, 14, Jacksonville, 4 Nov 2001

I'm surprised there isn't more interest in this case. Some predator brutally stabbed a child to death and dumped her under bridge. I'm going to do some digging.

Exactly. That was his appeal of right. He can also file for other reasons under habeus corpus - for example, he can argue that his constitutional rights were violated in some way like jury tampering, a conflict of interest or ineffective assistance of counsel. GUILTY IA - Michelle Martinko, 18, stabbed to death, Cedar Rapids, 19 Dec 1979

Anyone have any luck getting their hands on Jerry’s appeal brief? Apparently it’s over 75 pages, challenging the surreptitious DNA collection. The clerk of court will send it to me but I have to pay copying fees and I’d rather not.
