Haha, I wondered why they went quiet. Seriously what an idiot of a man abducting someone from Sydney Road .... the stupidity is astounding. I wondered why after I left the PC for a minute to serve dinner and get back and there's 50 odd tweets...

Just to saturate the thread with my posts. Would I be ridiculous by suggesting a professional hit? I know, I know ... it's something I thought of today. There's just things that don't add up.

That's what I'm clinging too. The CCTV - if it is clearer - could reveal registration plates. I honestly don't believe someone without a criminal record gravitates towards abduction (and possibly murder) without baby steps first. By that I mean, other smaller offences ... i.e. flashing...

Apparently the information van on Hope St has packed up and left. Maybe there's significant leads. Here's hoping. :please:

I wouldn't think you're going mad. Perhaps one of the witnesses prematurely spoke with the media about what he saw. Maybe Detectives don't want the offenders to 'get a heads up'. I'm sure I also read today that a car was found mysteriously on fire, or burnt out (something like that) in...

The phone records would support the exact time she spoke to her brother. Apparently they are back but, Police won't divulge anything. I'm interested in the male voices heard in the background.

My first thoughts were 'ice' - apparently they makes a user feel invincible.

Initially I thought 'noooooo, it's a phone or car keys' - it would be a very large set of keys! It's just so scary - particularly how brazen this guy is.

Forgive me if this has already been posted. Here's a zoomed in vision of the blue hoody guy waving something around in his hand. It looks distinctly like a gun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qywc5F_xWi0

She tweeted that why bother reporting everything to Police, she suggested they would have 'their work cut out'. I disagree, these things need to be reported - even if Police have limited resources to report it, at least it's on file. I also deleted a suggestion yesterday that Deveny was...

'Police will not confirm reports that new CCTV footage has emerged showing a man in a blue hooded jumper running after ABC employee Jill Meagher along Sydney Road in Brunswick just moments before she vanished'. Read more...

Me too :( I guess I've been reasoning it's human nature to look close to home for the person responsible. Also, I used to do lots of fun things around Melbourne (go out, walk home in the wee hours etc.) and still like to think it's a reasonably safe place. Especially Sydney Rd, Brunswick ...

I think the MSM need to rethink their headlines. One story has 'four sought over Jill'. This is extremely misleading and the possible witnesses in the CCTV would be extremely nervous (i.e. thinking they are considered persons of interest).

If this was a random abduction and Jill didn't know the 'blue hoody' guy in the CCTV footage, there is one significant point that puzzles me :waitasec: He surely could remove her alone? I do understand he could have overpowered her given how petite Jill is but, the rest? It's really...

If you trawl back through the thread, apparently a woman who owns a food shop on Sydney road did hear screams that night. Personally I didn't read that piece of information in MSM but, I definitely read it in this thread.

I've just read that little chesnut too. :waitasec: An ice chest, sounds sinister. I actually don't think there will be an arrest by Friday, I'm predicting later tonight. Very sad for Jill's family and friends :(

I've forgotten the timeline. What's the significance of seeing her on the CCTV at 1.41 am? I thought I just read that it contradicts her call from the pub (or something similar)? Help!
