I believe it was 80 lbs. Keep in mind though that "dead weight" (horrible choice of words but I don't know how else to say it) is much more difficult to maneuver than a regular object. Not to mention kinda large and cumbersome to not be noticed moving it. I agree with the poster that...

What new info have I missed today? Is there any suspect info? I am reading the thread backwards and see mention of a green truck? Has that been confirmed? Have LE said if Jessica has been completely located? It sickens me to think they are still "searching".

Did officials make the clothes comment before or after the backpack was found? If after, I would wonder if clothing was found in the backpack prompting them to assume she'd changed into something else?

Sadly, this case reminds me so much of the Holly Jones case. Kidnapped on a short walk, 10 years old, raped, murdered, dismembered. Perp was Michael Biere and apparently it was his first killing. Single man, well dressed, stranger, but lived close by. Michael Briere - Wikipedia, the free...

IDK, I saw one vid of the body being removed and it looked like torso/legs to me. As far as blood loss, I would think a lot of that would be dependent on what was done to it, and where. If major dismemberment took place elsewhere, I would think that the vast majority of blood would be out...

I agree. If they don't disengage, they will go nuts. Its a survival techniques. The reporters do need to be more careful though that it not be done on live feed.

No, but it does mention needing "a place in the clouds" and a "foundation of stone" which sort of seems to fit with the cabin location in the pics....on a hill or mountain? And, of course, the "wide open spaces" bit, which it seems like is sort of the focus of the search locations. Nothing...

I am almost certain that I read that searchers found the body parts while doing a grid search of some sort? I have read so.many.articles. in the past hour though, my head is spinning as to where I read that. And, I think that at this point they have said they CANNOT confirm ID until tomorrow.

OMG. Now the Dixie Chicks, "Wide Open Spaces" is running through my head. The lyrics are pretty creepy actually, when considered in connection with this.

Does anyone know where the sketch came from? Is it the suspected abductor of Jessica?

Was the video something made and posted by the abductor? Or was this a video made about the discovery of the body? Or something else entirely?

Yes. I will pray for all law enforcement and other agencies involved in this gruesome find. Many of them will have children of their own, and for those, this will be especially traumatic. Its easy to forget that they are people too, who will be forever impacted by this outcome. Involved...

The sketch posted previously in this thread....where did it come from? Was there a witness to something? Or is it related to the other abduction, in Wyoming?

Note that in the caption on the photo, it states "officers comb through the area where JESSICA was found" :(

I just got home from work, and am trying to catch up. Can someone provide a quick run down of the days events? Have they found something of importance? TIA. ETA-whats this about a car? And a torso?

I haven't heard of this man before, but am trying to read up. Is there a list somewhere of the people who have been officially ruled out?

GUILTY Peru - Stephany Flores, 21, murdered in Lima hotel room, 30 May 2010 #25

I was about to post the same! I suspect that the "unsupervised visitation with a woman" was probably arranged for him by someone, perhaps his lawyer? I would assume she is not a "victim" in this.
