There is a post on Twitter from someone that claims to have family in the area - saying that rumors are flying that her body might have been found in a pond near the home and that cops are all over the place...
Anyone heard anything like this? I can't find any media coverage yet.
Not sure if this was covered in the thread, only made it thru part of it.
I think Ronald proposed because people were saying that Misty had something to do with it. Her mother is quoted as saying that they wanted to get married for about 5 months, but she didn't want them too until she was...
One of the descriptions notes that he's wanted in the abduction of at least 4 other children. I've been trying to find the other names he's linked to, but so far no luck.
No problem! There are lots of people to try to keep straight in this mess! I wish there was a confession...but I don't think they've even really had a true interrogation by the police yet.
No the adoptive parents live in Derby, Kansas about 30-40 miles from their old house in Towanda. I'm guessing the out of state source would be someone who used to live in the park.
The sheriff is saying they found some "things" related to the "answer" they received at the first dig... Couldn't really be more vague.
I don't know that they "know" he's dead so much as the "remains" thing was probably more of an answer to why they are digging up the back yard.
New article in this morning's Wichita Eagle:
SRS to Review Contacts with Adam Herrman
A couple of interesting things:
In 1996 Adam spent 2 days in the Wichita Children's Home before being returned to the Herrmans.
I was pretty sure this was the case here for Homeschool kids, but I wanted...
I really hope that's the case as well, unfortunately - I'm just not so sure. I hope that if he is living a good life he contacts police and lets them know, but hopefully they wouldn't release any info on him or his whereabouts. But I'd hate to see the taxpayers continue to pay for a search if...
Hi to another Kansan!
I don't know that I would characterize the family as "poor", the father owns a Masonry business and I don't think he does too bad at it. I would say they are probably pretty solidly middle class. I think sometimes the "trailer park" thing sets a certain vision in...
Thanks Suzi! I always feel a bit useless when I lurk around the other discussions...so it's nice to feel a bit useful!
ibyoungr: My dealings with Mrs. Herrman were always of a professional nature, but I did see her and her daughter every couple of months for six & a half years (from...
There really isn't anything to say he didn't at this point, other than the suspicions we all have about the Herrmans. I think parts of the tracks were used as a bit of a teenage meeting place at one time, but I think alot of that got removed over the years. It wasn't uncommon to walk the...
Here's the newest article from the Wichita Eagle.
http://www.kansas.com/news/story/658054.html
Basically, another sibling of Valerie Herrman is alleging abuse against Adam and actually states that he talked Adam's oldest sister Crystal out of reporting the abuse. Doug Herrman vehemently...
That railroad walk is quite the haul! I'm surprised you didn't have to go rescue them! There used to be a certain amount of rumored transient activity around the tracks.
Yes I do think it's a logical place to search. Basically the Whitewater runs just west of Towanda, there is a bridge over it on what used to be the highway (254) but is now more of like an access/local only kind of road, lots of tree cover, etc... The Whitewater feeds into the Walnut river...
This is from way out of left field, but sometimes that's just how my brain works :P
I was trying to do a little research on the father's masonry company. It's called Herrman & Son Masonry. Well, I stumbled on a forum for people in the masonry business. If this is in fact the same Doug...
