"My explanation actually does account for why she could have a false memory of leaving the door unlocked, but ... Unlocked or not, I still have trouble buying the idea that she left it unlocked so that a confederate could commit murder and mayhem." - Skigirl
OK, but you are missing the point...
"What you mentioned is one of those theoretical statements LE has made that I take issue with. How do we know, exactly, that the killer WAS in Faith's social circle? The note? What aside from that points to that conclusion? Just the general circumstances of the crime, that perhaps point to...
"I hate to just keep saying the same thing but ..... And so she said she left the door unlocked, when in fact the killer left the door unlocked." - Skigirl
Except everything you've said there would only explain why Karena would say she remembered something she didn't actually remember. It...
I re-watched the 20/20 episode last night and must say that the commentator says one thing therein that is absolutely on point. After noting that all (or nearly all) of the males in Faith's social circle have been cleared by forensics, he says, 'the central contradiction in this case is that...
Elementary - I think you might want to read a bit more about this case, as well as watch some of the programs that have covered it. A few good resources include:
1. https://faithhedgepeth.blogspot.com
2. http://www.gaspowrites.com
3...
OK, Skigirl, but if this male was in the "outer orbit" of her social circle --- something I have also considered --- what is our account of how he comes to be in the apartment sometime after 4:30am? Does he simply show up at her front door? Does she let him in? Does he simply find the door...
This last post above leads me to think that the most likely explanation --- if one thinks that her killer was male --- may be that the male was known to Faith but that police have either (i) failed to identify him as a person of interest or (ii) failed to obtain his fingerprints/DNA.
Building on the above, one might say that if one believes that Faith was killed by a male, then there are three possible scenarios:
the male was known to her & the sex was consensual
the male was known to her & the sex was non-consensual
the male was unknown to her & the sex was non-consensual...
Good post, CADWrest, but for me that leads us back to a place that seemingly makes no sense. If the male who had sex with Faith is her murderer, who is this male? Haven't all of the males known to Faith been tested against the forensics? Not to mention, if this male was known to Faith, when and...
OK, so I just listened to Tom Gasparoli's short podcast and quite liked it, in part simply because it was nice to hear a thoughtful, intelligent person talk about this case, which really does need to be solved. While he avoids stating his own opinions, it's fairly clear that he believes Faith's...
Three things: one, there is a good "statement analysis" of Karena Rosario's 911 call that everyone should read. The analysis is quite smart, and it generally suggests that there are a number of odd aspects of Rosario's responses / language during the 911 call. For some reason this website won't...
I have another thought about what might have happened that night and why Karena Rosario should be the main suspect.
This is important, I think.
I was just reading through old posts on this case, and I came across something that Brandon Edwards wrote in memory of Faith on the two year...
I just watched the "Disappeared" episode about Roxanne, and I have a few basic thoughts. For me there are three things that could have occurred: (i) Louis Walls killed her and somehow managed to hide her body very well in a very short period of time; (ii) Roxanne left the motel, walked down the...
One thing I do not understand about this case is how or why the two students who saw the suspect fleeing the library stacks were not more helpful. Shouldn't they have been able to describe him in some detail? Shouldn't they have been able to help produce a composite sketch? In all likelihood the...
This is precisely what I have been thinking, and if you look at my previous posts, I give a number of reasons why I think Karena Rosario should be the main suspect.
As you say, that the weapon was the rum bottle means it was completely unpremeditated and spontaneous and likely the result of...
Sorry, but even if they felt safe where they lived, they still would have locked up. They were young women living alone. If Karena Rosario told police she left the door unlocked, this is deeply, deeply suspicious, for reasons which I have already explained.
I just watched the Dateline episode on this case, and it is obvious that this was a terrible miscarriage of justice. The police and DA clearly know this, but they are covering up for the terrible work they did back when Heidi disappeared. They had nothing against Gary Thibodeau except for a...
I think the focus should be on Karena Rosario for a number of reasons.
One, she was the last person to see Faith Hedgepeth alive.
Two, the odds that someone else entered that apartment in the hours b/t 4am and 10am? are very, very low.
Three, the brutality of the crime suggests the killer...
