All of my friends and friends of friends who had to evacuate are staying with friends, not at shelters. Hopefully people staying with friends and family will relieve some of the strain on the shelters.

I think they started about an hour ago. They are so well-run I have faith that they will get all human and animal life out of harms way.

I-15 is reopened, but they are now starting evacuations around I-5.

The only one I know is that part of the 15 is shut down. My friend just emailed me that her co-worker got a call that she may need to evacuate and her home is in Solana Beach. If that's the case, I can't imagine what will happen on the 5. More info on road closures...
